Senior Operations Technology (OT) Engineer will be a part of the Special Use Networks (SUN) Center of Excellence (CoE) that is tasked with standardizing and maturing architecture, services, processes, procedures and policies, relating to IT/OT equipment and applications in Engineering Labs and Manufacturing facilities across the enterprise. The primary goal of the SUN CoE is to improve cyber security posture of SUNs across Honeywell.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating Special Use Network (SUN) infrastructure services standards for various use cases, taking into account the operational needs of different types of OT equipment in the landscape
  • Designing, configuring, standardizing and implementing cybersecurity compensating controls for OT devices and application such as PLC Controllers, DCS systems, MES, SCADA, etc.
  • Assist in improving and maintaining currency and security posture SUN infrastructure services and equipment across the enterprise on an ongoing basis
  • Assist in troubleshooting OT equipment across the enterprise as a subject matter expert


    • 8+ years of hands-on experience in factory OT/IT equipment installation, deployment, commission, upgrades, backups, administration and operations
    • 5+ years of experience in control, performance, troubleshooting, and support/maintenance of a variety of OT equipment and systems such as PLC, ICS, SCADA, DCS, Workstations, CNC systems, etc.
    • Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technology discipline

      • Experience in mission critical and/or life safety facilities
      • Exposure to a wide variety of OT systems among Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Instrumentation Systems, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Industrial network products, Human Machine interface, SCADA systems, Distributed Control Systems, Advanced Process Control Systems (PCS), PCNs, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) systems, including computerized machine tools, Building Management and Building Automation Systems, Industrial Control Systems, Workstations, Industrial printers, etc.
      • Familiar with MES, SCADA, FACTORYworks, FactoryTalk, PHD or such OT application systems
      • Breadth of OT knowledge covering multiple types of OT equipment will be preferred
      • Ability to collaborate with computer engineers, production engineers and OT and IT professionals to develop strategies for effective operations; Experience in IT/OT cooperation or IT/OT alignment in the modern industrial setting
      • Familiar with Industrial networking technologies, protocols, protection methodologies
      • Familiar with Firewall technologies
      • Familiar with network monitoring, visibility and control mechanisms
      • Exposure to IIoT
      • Expertise in cyber security in the context of OT (i.e., engineering labs and factories)
