**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

**Job Mission**

Manage complex projects for New Product Introduction, by engaging cross-functional teams from definition to implementation into High Volume Facility.

Act as a preferred contact person in an international environment to effectively drive teams through project execution in complex situations.

Overall Responsibility:

Lead and influence projects acting as a project manager for complex new product development or challenging existing product transfer to high volume manufacturing

Owns all operating aspects of a project as a HVF representative. Drive all project phases. Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring, Controlling and Closing the New Product Introduction / Transfer Project in collaboration with external partners.

**Main Responsibilities**

Project Management:

Influence inputs from CTOR to define project scope / deliverables. Ensure transfer plan is accurate and that Operations objectives are clearly defined

Drive detailed project planning (FTEs, budget, milestones, detailed planning) in accordance with CT objectives.

Act as a leader while forming the team, and driving project execution. Adapt and transform project animation according to the critical project phases and business needs.

Influence PMO referentials based on project/program best practices and learnings.

Drive project execution and maintain project schedule.

Manage project budget/resources. Define forecast and monitor actuals to maintain budget targets according to AOP. Implement mitigation actions in accordance with CTOR if needed.

Influence operations objectives (Labor, Burden, Material, Cycle Time, Capacity, First Run Yield, Cum Yield, Process Ppk, etc). Track current status and projection to reach the objective.

Gather the team on project issues and drive recovery plans execution by involving SMO specialists / process owners

Help CTOR with completing other special assignment activities per guidance

Improve project management tools (PMO) to improve operating efficiency

Recognize teams and individuals for exceptional performance

Provide performance feedback to team members direct manager to help define their development plan

Voice Of Operations (VOO):

Drive DRM initiative through projects by collecting relevant design inputs and obtain buy-in from RD on key manufacturability requirements

Influence Operations objectives (Labor, Burden, Material, Cycle Time, Capacity, First Run Yield, Cum Yield, Process Ppk, etc)

Meet operations objectives by tracking current status and defining projection by actions implementation

Coach project team to ensure DRM is consistently applied into projects (FMEA, PCS, DRM objectives).


Ensure timely and thorough status updates regarding strategy, schedule, risk, and budget. Provide written weekly status up-date.

Monthly PMO up-dates Manage stakeholders with clear/concise scorecard status.

Maturity gates reviews Anticipate, prepare and deliver executive level communication

Present project status updates to PMO Portfolio board

Share communications with Operations key stakeholders on project objectives (LBM, Capacity, First Run Yield, Cum Yield, Process Ppk

Solve key issues and concerns for budget/cost/schedule/project risks. Escalate to SMO leadership and CTOR if needed

Influence improvement of reporting activities according to PMO best practices.

Drive readiness reviews and preparation for key program builds (DAU, clinical readiness review, production launch)

Site implementation:

Be the driving force for the introduction of new products, from design to high volume manufacturing lines, in order to support market launch and organization growth.

Define and drive development and prototype builds to support product development testing requirements

Inspire others for project execution effectiveness and acceleration of time to market for new products.

Embark Quality, Compliance, Regulatory functions and provide project direction to ensure multi-functions success through the project


Provide direction to product mechanical/electrical design in order to increase new product manufacturability (act as a manufacturing representative).


Comprehensive knowledge of Medtronic products

Advanced in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes

Complete understanding of Medtronic financial processes

Advanced MS-Project knowledge

**Experience and qualification**

Educational: Master level or higher in Electronics / Micro Engineering / Biotechnologies

10 years of experience as project manager or program lead

Experience: Project management tools Methods expertise (PMI PMP certified)

Exposure to quality and manufacturing in international environment

Project management tools Methods expertise (PMI PMP certified is a plus)

Comprehensive knowledge of Lean principles

Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes validation (IQ,OQ, PQ)
