Our central Privacy team is charged with delivering strategic privacy solutions that serve a diverse array of Amazon businesses, enabling them to meet privacy obligations at scale. We are seeking a seasoned, get-things-done leader to head the privacy review operations program for our central Privacy team. In this role, you will work across the privacy organization with cross-functional teams including legal, customer service, engineering, internal risk and compliance teams, and product owners to set the strategy for privacy review operations across Amazon. Your deep insights into privacy, program management, and operations best practices will power continuous improvements, enabling teams to embed compliance and privacy-by-design concepts into product life cycles, driving efficiencies through optimized processes and automation, and providing actionable health metrics to legal, compliance, and business leaders.

Key job responsibilities
€¢ Refine and scale company-wide operational processes for privacy review. Work alongside engineering and product teams to deliver right-sized capabilities to reviewers. Work at senior levels across internal risk, compliance, and legal teams to establish and execute on the strategy for an all-Amazon operating model that balances the need for autonomous decision making, speed, and risk-based oversight to achieve elegant scalability.

€¢ Build and lead a cross-functional team of program managers and analysts charged with both oversight and execution of privacy review and issue management. Establish mechanisms for headcount planning. Build and maintain bench strength, investing in team member development and maintaining a high bar to demonstrate measurable impact.

€¢ Identify and pursue operational efficiencies, influencing technical and non-technical teams to deliver through a combination of automation and process optimization. Maintain a strong understanding of best-in-class privacy risk management methodologies, and related regulatory expectations €“ embed processes to perform recurring gap analysis against those expectations, and drive improvements.

€¢ Represent and report on the operational health of the privacy review program to senior leaders. Set and periodically audit communication strategies to ensure integration of stakeholder feedback. Develop concise, data driven narratives and maintain a library of process documentation that provides for inspection readiness.

About the team
The CDO Privacy team is responsible for delivering privacy solutions for protecting Amazon.com customer€™s trust. We partner across Amazon€™s Consumer and Digital business units to build an environment where customer privacy is the highest priority. You will help enhance awareness and deliver the Privacy strategy across Amazon€™s retail experiences including but not limited to Amazon.com, Alexa, Prime Video, Kindle, and our subsidiaries (e.g. Audible, Zappos, Whole Foods).


€¢ Bachelor€™s degree
€¢ 10+ years of experience in privacy, risk management, and/or compliance
€¢ 5+ years of experience in designing, optimizing processes inclusive of leading operational or program teams
€¢ Experience driving large-scale programs, leading/executing cross-org initiatives, defining solutions and presenting impact/value based on data/metrics
€¢ Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrable experience effectively presenting complex concepts to senior audiences
€¢ Proactive owner who can independently manage teams or lead matrixed groups to deliver
€¢ Expertise in industry best practices with respect to privacy, operations management, and/or compliance program management methodologies and a demonstrated ability to right size practical solutions to accelerate business decision making


€¢ Graduate or legal degree
€¢ Professional certification in Privacy, Security, or Risk Management
