The Sr. Marketing Communications Specialist for Cardiac Rhythmic Management (CRM) will be responsible for managing the High Voltage (HV) product portfolio. Responsible for initiating, creating and executing global product launch plans and global campaigns across multiple channels and geographies to enable sales and build the Abbott Brand. This role’s success is built upon the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the business, product, customer, distribution channels, and competitors while applying their knowledge and expertise in marketing communications to build solid strategies and execute global plans that align with current business needs. This role will support the business strategies of the CRM HV portfolio, while ensuring consistency and alignment with overall Abbott Global Communications policies and guidance.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and execute measurable, multi-channel communications strategies and campaigns to support the commercialization of solutions globally.
  • Manage projects from initiation to completion through internal and external processes/initiate, coordinate and oversee all marketing communication projects assigned to them
  • Contribute to global product positioning, messaging, naming and creative development working with manager.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding about the nuances of different global geographies and selling divisions to ensure communications campaigns enable the sales organizations.
  • Develop campaign briefs and Intergrated Marketing Communication Plans (IMCP) with marketing counterpart(s) to help support business goals and product launches.
  • Coordinate with other internal business partners (PR/Digital/Sales/Education) as appropriate, to ensure alignment on IMCP tactics and timelines.
  • Ability to work within a system/follow process
  • Picks up new technical information quickly
  • Consult/Advise on communication strategy and tactics to meet business objectives; Experience advising on communication strategy to support business objectives
  • Experience writing and presenting marketing communication plans
  • Comfortable resolving differing opinions on content or tactical implementation; skilled at negotiating and motivating others
  • Manage and strengthen relationships
  • Manage administrative and campaign work to ensure projects are on time and on budget
  • Coordinate multiple projects at the same time
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment working with teams from around the world; ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Partner with analytics team to evaluate and report effectiveness of campaigns on the necessary cadence to track program success.
  • Partner and collaborate with outside agencies/vendors to ensure initiatives meet expectations.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

    General Qualifications

    • Experience working in a highly regulated field; preferably in medical device or life science
    • 7-10 years of marketing communications strategy and tactical execution experience required
    • (Disease state) experience preferred. 
    • Bachelors’ degree required in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent; Masters’ degree preferred.
    • Experience working in an agency environment; managing and strengthening relationships is a plus
    • B2C/B2B product launch experience is required
    • Strong written and oral communication
    • Highly organized and flexible
    • Proven performance in working across communication channels
    • Experience in drafting and leading creative briefs
    • High level of intensity and comfort level with change
    • Planning - demonstrated project planning skills
    • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
    • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
      • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
      • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
      • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
      • Excellent use of MS Office including PowerPoint and Excel software.
      • Experience working with PC.
      • Travel up to 20%, domestic or international
