As a Sr. SDM, you will be 100% focused on implementing major change throughout a complex low-latency, high throughput advertising ecosystem. You will be the single-threaded owner of several developer and advertiser-facing systems. Your team will consist of senior engineering talent solving some of the most challenging and enticing problems at Amazon.

About you:
You want to work on projects where you are implementing solutions to problems that require creative solutions and deep understanding of the problem space. You challenge yourself and others to constantly come up with better and often disruptive solutions. You know how to work cross-functionally to create alignment and deliver results. You're a thought leader, but you don't just know how to solve the problem, you prove it by going and building the solution. You want to create value and impact the direction of entire industries. This role requires a deeply technical person that can work at this scale but also interface with business teams and ensure our services meets the needs of our customers.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
· 5+ years of experience, managing engineers and managers
· Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
· Online distributed systems and platform infrastructure design and implementation
· Knowledge of CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, Object Oriented design
· Knowledge of full life-cycle software engineering practices including coding standards, testing, software configuration management, and operations
· Bachelor€™s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience building platform/hosted API services
· Expertise working on large and deeply transformative projects
· Experience building large-scale web services backed by cloud services, such as AWS
· High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
· Experience driving multifaceted, cross functional initiatives
· Track record of software projects delivery
· Exceptional problem solving and communication skills
· Product development experience (including Java, XML, messaging protocols, and Web Services)
· Advanced CS or equivalent degree
