Amazon is looking for a strong leader who is passionate about customer experience, who thinks/acts globally, and who has the ability to contribute to new innovations in the Disability and Leave industry. As a Sr. Manager, DLS Innovation, this individual will be responsible for defining and fostering a culture of innovation across the overall department. The individual in this position must understand Amazon business units supported and have a deep understanding of ADA, FMLA, statutory leaves and disability policies and laws, in addition to understanding the job accommodation processes and Amazon€™s re-assignment obligation. The Sr. Manager, DLS Innovation will be leading a team of leaders who are spread across multiple sites and countries, and will be responsible for their performance. Strong initiative, team leadership, project management and quantitative skills are imperative, as well as the ability to lead and grow top-notch people.

The Sr. Manager, DLS Innovation will:
· Lead specialty operations across the globe to execute on innovation initiatives
· Lead innovation initiatives across Amazon€™s DLS Department in cross-functional process and business improvement projects through a standardized process focused on governance
· Create an innovation strategy that is understood and endorsed by key stakeholders including senior leadership, employees, customers, and stakeholders
· Use innovation to differentiate the company in the market, provide unique value to customers and help build long-term relationships with customers
· Build trust and confidence in the DLS team
· Collaborate with legal and compliance stakeholders on regulatory/employment liability issues as they relate to complex cases and/or policy development with leave, disability and/or accommodation
Functional Responsibilities include:
· Ambiguity: High degree of uncertainty in both problem definition and solution approach. Delivers with complete independence.
· Scope of Influence: Ability to build consensus on data, metrics, and analysis to drive business and system strategy. Influences Senior Mangers/Director and DLS stakeholders. Significant role developing others.
· Technical Complexity: High degree of difficulty and rigor involved in the analysis, modelling and development of work force solutions. Ability to handle complexity when problems involve multiple systems, teams, or processes. Ability to identify and implement robust, efficient, scalable solutions.
· Impact: Delivers artifacts that drive decision making on critical staffing levels, service levels, and expenses.
· Execution: Initiates the design, development, and implementation of analysis projects that optimize staffing, scheduling, shifts. Applies analytical principles/concepts to problems. Makes informed trade-offs to deliver results.
· Knowledge: Knowledge of leave, disability and accommodation domains. Skillset to apply analytical principles, tools, and techniques.


· Bachelor€™s degree from accredited university
· Proficient in coaching others (minimum 10+ years of experience) and experience coaching/leading managers of managers
· 10+ years of relevant experience in innovation, technology and/or solutions development
· Technically proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint


· Masters€™ degree from accredited university
· SPHR, PHR, or CPDM certifications, or equivalent
· Exposure to U.S. HR processes and practices
· Experience with global service and employee delivery
· Solid understanding of leading technology platforms, work-flow tools, software packages, business applications in HR area
· Experience working with hourly workforces of significant size and complexity, particularly union and non-union manufacturing, distribution and/or call centers
· Experience working with knowledge workers, particularly programmers and highly skilled technology workforces
· Experience with providing leave and/or accommodation services from outside the U.S.
· Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information
· Strong problem solving, time management and priority setting skills
· Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence others while working in a cross functional environment, preferably with senior members of the business
· Detail orientation with ability to analyze, problem solve, organize and manage multiple priorities and excellent follow up skills in a fast-paced environment
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
· Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and in writing
· Ability to travel as appropriate (25% - 50%), including foreign travel

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $152000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
