The Walt Disney Companys Direct-To-Consumer & International (DTCI) is a global business segment for The Walt Disney Company with the mission of providing consumers around the world access to the content they want most, on the latest platforms, at a time of rapidly-evolving consumer habits. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Business Affairs, who will report directly to Disney+s VP of Business Affairs. The position will be responsible for overseeing, structuring, negotiating and drafting a high volume of development and production deals primarily-related to Disney+s scripted original programming. The deals will be primarily with our internal content partner studios producing content for Disney+, and there also will opportunity to negotiate license agreements with third party studios. The position requires an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented and a self-starter. A strong background in all aspects of scripted production is also required. A positive, can-do attitude is a must. Solid time management, multi-tasking skills, good judgment and the ability to effectively interface with creative clients and high-level executives (internal and external) are all essential for this position. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping the Business Affairs team grow and evolve; thrive in a high-pressure, start-up like environment; possess the ability to complete high volumes of complex projects quickly with little oversight; and react appropriately to urgent situations or tasks. The highest possible level of confidentiality and discretion will be required for this position.


  • Structure, negotiate, and draft a high volume of primarily scripted development and production agreements, including license agreements, option and other rights and development-related agreements, talent/test option agreements, and certain above-the-line agreements (writers, producers, directors, and on-camera participants)
  • Partner with related TWDC segments in the consistent oversight, coordination and negotiation of complex deals related primarily to scripted original programming, including movies, series, international productions, specials, short-form, ancillary content, third-party acquisitions, etc.
  • Analyze deal structures and advise on strategy, costs, talent relations and other information relating to the development and production of primarily scripted original productions
  • Partner with each TWDC segment legal team to draft term sheets and other documentation
  • Act as a business liaison between Disney+ and the creative community (e.g., talent agencies, studios and independent production companies)
  • Provide general business counsel in a rapidly changing business and tech environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bar Membership
  • 2+ years total BA and/or legal experience including studio or entertainment experience, law firm experience or equivalent with substantial experience in scripted content acquisition, sales, and production

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years experience in negotiation and drafting including 2+ years experience within a major TV network or studio
  • Prior scripted production and development experience
  • Prior major law firm experience
  • Familiarity with SVOD transactions
  • Knowledge of substantive areas of the law relevant to documentary filmmaking, such as defamation, copyright, and privacy rights, and familiarity with journalistic standards and practices

Required Education

  • Bachelors degree

Preferred Education

  • J.D. degree from top tier law school (preferred)
