Honeywell Corporate located in Charlotte, NC has an opening in Mergers & Acquisitions Valuation, Corporate Development. This role reports to the Vice President, M&A.
  • Developing detailed financial models, including Discounted Cash Flow and Comparable Company valuations in support of variety of potential acquisition and divestiture transactions undertaken by our SBGs and Corporate. Working closely with both Corporate and SBG business development leadership to achieve thorough, well-thought out financial profile of target and impact on acquisition to SBG and HON.
  • Conducting detailed interviews with internal business and functional leaders and external company management concerning operational and financial issues, risks and liabilities, integration issues and opportunities and potential synergy benefits of each transaction.
  • Synthesizing information gathered in due diligence process into a fully functional operational model (including testing quantification and impact of various findings)
  • Stress-testing financial models for various cases, operating scenarios and sensitivities
  • Performing industry and company research utilizing available services (e.g. Capital IQ, OneSource, Thompson Financial, Intelliscope, etc.), and Internet sources.
  • Applying a variety of valuation approaches and methods to the analysis of target companies (public and private); ability to benchmark with other companies to continuously upgrade program with best practices in valuation.
  • Combining analytical findings and qualitative research to produce thorough and well-supported valuation reports/analysis.
  • Ability to develop industry expertise in conjunction with HON€™s goals of specific targets, technologies and other acquisition criteria.
  • Preparing quarterly €œWatchlist€ of potential public company targets for delivery to CEO (including updated financial performance, analyst views, recent events and merger math).
  • Working with valuation team to drive process improvements and memorializing best practices/lessons learned
    Must Have:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or Engineering¬†
    • Four or more years of progressive experience in valuation, financial modeling proficiency, investment banking, venture capital, private equity or consulting.
      We Value:
      • MBA preferred, not required
      • Working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Internal Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), IRC preferred.
      • Certification/Licenses/Credentials, including CFA preferred, not required
      • Capital IQ Factset, Thompson experience preferred.
      • Ability to lead valuation effort and coordinate with BD staff and others in the field. Ability to engage constructively with business leadership to test assumptions and gain full understanding of strategy and business/operational implications of key valuation drivers (strong team player).
      • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment with frequent interaction with CEO and CFO, VP of Global M&A and SBG teams.
      • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
      • Excellent analytical, research, organizational, and project management skills.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, strong Internet research skills.
