Responsible for firmware development, test bench development, digital system and subsystem architecture, FPGA timing analyses, and FPGA system block diagrams. Additional responsibilities include digital hardware design, schematic development, PWB layout and route analysis, serial communication management, board-level block diagrams, and system wiring diagrams.

  • Capable of Digital System Architecture for complex control systems.
  • FPGA logic design, coding, simulation, and synthesis using VHDL.
  • Digital circuit card design and development in low power environments.
  • Develop and edit circuit schematics with OrCAD development tools.
  • Troubleshoot/Debug VHDL.
  • Troubleshoot/Debug CCA component failures and investigate root cause of failures in system applications.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Coordinating Engineering aspects of the project to meet technical, schedule and design-to-cost goals.
    • Interface effectively with team members throughout the organization.
    • Assist in the planning and conducting of technical projects.
    • Ensure all engineering related internal processes are followed by the project design team.
    • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.         
    • Ability to work effectively with other design disciplines as well as manufacturing to create design solutions that address often-conflicting requirements.  
    • Must be creative, open-minded, a good communicator, and a good listener.
    • Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical personnel.
    • Ability to write clear technical documentation.
    • Ability to logically address, analyze and resolve problems.
    • Ability to effectively plan and organize projects and manage priorities.

    • Strong analytical skills
      • VHDL
      • ModelSim/Questa or equivalent logic simulation tools
      • Libero (Microsemi), Quartus (Intel), Vivado (Xilinx) FPGA development tools
      • DxDesigner or equivalent schematic capture tools
      • High speed serial, digital interfaces
      • SPI, I2C, RS-422, LVDS
      • Digital communication algorithm development and implementation
      • Manipulation of packet protocols             



        • Education � B.S.E.E.
        • Experience � 12+ years digital design experience, 8 years of VHDL development


          • Education � Advanced degree preferred in Electrical Engineering
          • Project Engineering Experience
          • CAM Experience
          • Knowledgeable of Military Specifications/Standards
          • Knowledgeable of standard EMI/EMC Testing
          • EVMS Experience
          • Experience in circuit simulation with PSPICE software
          • MATLab/Simulink Knowledge
          • DDR3 memory interfacing Experience
          • GigE, 10GigE, GigE Vision Experience

            • Must be a US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR.
            • Pre-employment drug screening and background checks are standard.
            • Some repetitive motion activities.
            • Visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information.
            • Able to use a computer/keyboard for extended periods of time.
            • Able to use office & test equipment and computers/peripherals, in a standard office & computer lab environment.
            • May be required to lift/move up to 25 lbs with assistance.
            • Fast paced, schedule driven environment.
            • Willing and able to work extended hours when necessary.
