**ROLE SUMMARY**

The headquarters-based Field Medical Director (FMD) Lead Pain/Cologuard is responsible for the development and execution of the FMD strategic and tactical plans supporting the Pain/Cologuard products in the Internal Medicine Portfolio. They work cross-functionally with the Pain/Cologuard FMD Team Leaders, Brand Medical Affairs (US), Global Medical Affairs, WRD, GPD, MOS, National Key Account MOS, Enterprise colleagues, Marketing and other Commercial Leadership, Legal, Regulatory, US Policy and Corporate Affairs. They are responsible for the development and management of the budget allocated to support the annual FMD strategic plan. They will assess FMD-led complex projects for alignment with appropriate Brand and Medical Strategy and scale deliverables from these projects for use with other customers. They will also lead the development and implementation of the KOMODO HCP Identifier tool to ensure the P/C FMD team maximizes opportunities for HCP identification and prioritization. Additional high profile and business critical projects for the FBM organization could be assigned. This position reports to the the IM FMD Group Lead



**Supporting Medical Affairs Integrated Medical Plan**



+ Maintain product and disease area competency to facilitate effective collaboration with Pfizer medical and commercial colleagues' external customers

+ Lead the cross-functional Medical Affairs Pain Customer Insight Workgroups (CIWG) and share customer insights with relevant leadership to guide strategy and tactical development

+ Develop FMD strategic and tactical plans in collaboration with the FMD P/C FMD Team TLs and team, Brand Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, MOS Pain TA Lead, WRD, and GPD, and colleagues from Global Health & Value (Outcomes & Evidence, Real World Data and Analytics, Payer Insights and Access) for products and their respective indications (marketed and future) in the IM Pain portfolio

+ Conduct annual SWOT, identify strategies and tactics and develop budget to address FMD high priority issues and opportunities to achieve annual objectives

+ Establish annual FMD Pain/Cologuard medical objectives and activity & impact goals

+ Lead execution of the FMD strategic and tactical plans in collaboration with FMD Leadership team, the US Brand Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, WRD, GPD, and leads from Global Health & Value (Outcomes & Evidence, Real World Data and Analytics, Payer Insights and Access)

+ Incorporate customer insights into strategic and tactical planning process

+ Conduct advisory boards and qualitative research to inform strategy and tactical development including participant recruitment, discussion guide development, consultant contract development and final report with recommendations

+ Develop medical affairs agency statement of work for tactics development and manage work, budget and provision of quarterly forecasts to finance

+ Coordinate all permissions and copyrights required for FMD resource development

+ Prepare submissions for FMD tactics to medical review committee (MRC) or Payer Channel Access (PCA) medical review committee

+ Attend all MRC meetings

+ Coordinate incorporation of MRC comments into final tactics

+ Manage all back-end processes required to produce and warehouse print based materials for all FMD resources, and guidelines for use to IM FMD Group Landing Page for access by FMDs

+ Ensure that FMD colleagues are appropriately trained on all resources

+ Monitor expiration dates on all FMD resources and update where appropriate

+ Assess use of resources with P/C FMD Teams

+ Assess performance to plan monthly with P/C FMD TLs and IM FMD Group Lead

+ Participate in P/C FMD Biweekly Team Calls

+ Contribute P/C FMD content to the IM FMD Group monthly newsletter



**Working with Internal Medical**



+ Lead the design and implementation of the KOMODO P/C HCP Identifier Tool to ensure the entire P/C FMD team maximizes opportunities for HCP identification and prioritization across priority hospitals, health systems, and other settings

+ Collaborate with headquarters Pain/CologuardFMD TLs, UD Medical affairs, the MOS Pain TA Lead and field based medical (MOS, FMDs) to develop strategies and tactics that support enhanced understanding by HCPs for products in the Pain/Cologuard portfolio

+ Ensure strong alignment between the MOS, Brand Medical Affairs and the P/C FMD team.

+ Support development of FMD resources for new product and new indication launches

+ Participate in HQ medical affairs publications planning to support FMD activities with HCPs

+ Engage and participate in relevant Global Medical Affairs, WRD, and GPD Pain product project teams to support Pain/Cologuard FMD team requests from those teams

+ Support FMDs in customer engagement opportunities

+ Lead dissemination and execution of Pain FMD strategy with Pain/Cologuard FMD TLs and FMD Leadership

+ Participate with Global Health and Value in abstracts, posters, presentations or publications on topics supporting FMD strategic plan.



**Partnership with commercial leadership**



+ Participate in headquarters planning and meetings with commercial marketing and sales leads to ensure alignment of goals

+ Review information from HCP market research (e.g. advisory boards, qualitative research, audit trial and usage) and incorporate insights where appropriate into medical strategy and customer initiatives

+ Contribute to customer strategic planning in collaboration with Sales and Account management

+ Meet regularly with Account Management leadership and MOS leadership to ensure appropriate engagement of Pain/Cologuard FMD teams in MG/IDN account opportunities where TA expertise is needed



**Working with External Partners**



+ Engage external opinion leaders for advisory boards and medical affairs webinars

+ Engage external opinion leaders in the development of FMD tactics

+ Engage external partners for technology platforms required to support FMD tactics

+ Manage medical affairs agency team in the development of FMD tactics

+ Participate in customer meetings and initiatives with field based FMD colleagues to advance opportunities that support enhanced understanding of Pfizer's Pain portfolio

+ Identify key thought leaders through ongoing review of the literature and participation in key conferences and conventions that can be leveraged to develop customer centric strategies and tactics

+ Participate where needed in customer collaborations or research opportunities with FMD colleagues that require headquarters support

+ Develop strategic medical partnerships to improve patient outcomes

+ Engage key stakeholders and influencers at the organizational level and within the market, such as Pain focused Medical Societies, Advocacy Groups, Coalitions and other medical/healthcare associations.



**Resource Management**



+ Manage resources strategically

+ Manage the MSA and budget and work orders with KOMODO Health for the Komodo HCP Identifier tool

+ Contribute to an engaged and effective work environment

+ Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures for reporting activities, impacts and Unsolicited Medical Request (UMR) entries.

+ Work within Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) guidelines



**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Terminal Doctorate degree (PharmD, PhD, or Doctor of Nursing Practice)

+ 10 or more years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs, Field Medical and/or specific Therapeutic Area experience

+ Expertise or experience in Internal Medicine therapeutic areas and the US health care system, health care analytics.

+ Experience leading a matrix organization with the ability to manage without direct authority.

+ Demonstration of strong strategic thinking skills, as evidenced by the ability to identify alternative scenarios, resulting implications, and development of pragmatic recommendations for direction or action.

+ Strong written and verbal communication influencing skills to address leadership and external audiences.

+ **Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.**



**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**



+ 10+ years in relevant Internal Medicine Therapeutic Areas.

+ Field Medical experience strongly preferred.

+ Experience and/or expertise in patient care, health services or clinical research, or outcomes research
