Sr. Director, Head of Campus Horizontal Strategy

As the Head of Campus Horizontal Strategy, you will develop a compelling, long-term vision and strategy in the area of university relations, diversity and inclusion, and talent marketing. In addition, you will set strategic direction and drive operational excellence across talent acquisition processes & systems.

As the Head of Campus Horizontal Strategy, you will be an analytically minded Human Resources professional with a demonstrated track record of aligning Talent Acquisition strategy with business strategy. You will have deep experience as a people leader with the ability to lead associates at all levels by setting clear expectations, delivering open and honest feedback, providing skill and career development, and identifying opportunities for growth. You will also possess the confidence and poise to influence the executive leadership team and various internal stakeholders. Most of all, you will possess the highest ethical standards, accompanied by a balanced ego and unwavering integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize data-gathering and modeling to inform an analytically rigorous approach for Campus Recruiting

  • Define key impact metrics and build infrastructure to drive scale, candidate experience, associate experience, quality of hire, and efficiency

  • Keep abreast of trends and innovative recruiting techniques to be competitive in state-of-the-art recruiting practices

  • Develop strategic partnerships with targeted universities, plan and execute on-campus events, and manage interview days

  • Lead team to deliver against top, diverse hiring goals through appropriate experimentation, best practice benchmarking, and by following emerging trends

  • Promote the continued evolution and impact of the distinctive employment brand and value proposition of Capital One

  • Lead and mentor a team of 20+ associates

  • Partner with senior leadership to address evolving talent needs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or military experience

  • At least 10 years of professional client management experience

  • At least 3 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or MBA

  • Experience leading or participating in Campus Recruiting within a consulting or technology-centric organization that is fast-paced and agile

  • Experience advising executive leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a change agent and drive transformation
