In this exciting role as a Senior Design Quality Assurance and Reliability Test Engineer you will have responsibility for providing test and reliability engineering leadership, supporting new product development and sustaining activities, and implementing traditional reliability type testing on each new program for NDT. You will work collaboratively with the technical cross functional team for the product as well as directly with system resources to ensure that the product meets reliability requirements and customer expectations. The individual best suited for this role will be required to provide direct Quality support to NDT while acting as a liaison with the broader Medtronic Diabetes Quality organization, with a focus on implementing cost effective and scalable methods of testing and troubleshooting systems equipment for new products.

A Day in the Life

+ **Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs.**

+ **Identifies, recommends, and/or implements design or test methods, test fixture development, and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.**

+ **Requirement development throughout the product development phases, ensuring testability in all levels of requirements.**

+ **Lead and/or participate in design verification and design validation for new products and modifications to existing products.**

+ **Completes risk analysis (e.g., DFMEA, UFMEA, RAD) and studies of new design and processes.**

+ **Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.**

+ **Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives.**

+ **As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.**

+ **Serve as a Design Quality Assurance reviewer/approver on design control documents, specifically those associated with product testing and characterization**

+ **Leading and supporting DRM principals related to Reliability and Design.**

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

**Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or technical discipline and 4+ years of quality and /or engineering experience OR Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science or Technical discipline and 2+ years of quality and/or engineering.**

**Nice to Have**

+ **Masters Degree in Engineering or technical discipline**

+ **Experience in system level design, requirements and safety risk assessments at all levels of product development.**

+ **Working knowledge of** **reliability engineering, including developing reliability plans for product development, accelerated life testing design and analysis, reliability analysis and prediction**

+ **Strong working knowledge of quality systems and quality assurance processes and principles, with a focus on development and/or verification/validation activities.**

+ **Experience executing multiple projects in parallel**

+ **5+ years experience working in the medical device industry with working knowledge of GMP, QSR, ISO and other global regulations and standards**

+ **Experience in trouble shooting equipment failure**

+ **Experience leading teams in failure modes and effects analysis activities**

+ **ASQ Certification in Quality or Reliability.**

+ **Working experience in a global environment spanning multiple sites and systems; ability to navigate and constructively influence across groups.**

+ **Strong oral/ written communication skills and interpersonal skills.**

+ **Ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining solutions.**

+ **Self-Starter and accountable, with sharp focus on quality and customer experience.**
