The Enterprise Services Compute and Connectivity Platform Organization designs, implements and operates a state-of-the-art Information Systems Infrastructure serving around 110,000 employees, in over 900 locations across 65 plus countries. The CCP Managed Sr Database Administrator (Oracle) will be responsible for operational support, stability and delivery for Database technologies like Oracle, MSSQL, ExaCC, DBaaS across platform in on premise and cloud environment. DBA will be working with the Aero, BT, SPS, PMT to ensure the infrastructure is optimal and humming. The DBA should be able to support in Amazon-RDS, EC2, ExaCC and other Cloud platforms. This role should identify the opportunity of Automation of DBA activities and reduce the manual task done today. Involve in Design and architect large-scale solutions for enterprise & cloud platforms. Use your extensive knowledge of DBaaS, PaaS, SaaS and open source technologies to transform and modernize Database Services.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Operational support on a rotational basis of > 5,000 Oracle Databases which resides in Honeywell Internal Cloud and Other cloud platforms like AWS, ExaC@C etc.

  • Monitor Database and Server performance and capacity planning. 

  • Software installation, configuration, patching and upgrades

  • Resolve configuration issues with database and Application tools.

  • Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models and perform when it is required.

  • Performance monitoring and tuning of the databases.

  • Accountable for technology roadmaps related to Oracle Databases, automation and cloud adoption

  • Assist and support the development and presentation for solutions which may include providing technical updates, documentation, demonstrations and executive presentations

  • Participate in special projects and work with cross-functional teams to improve processes and our service offerings

  • On-call responsibility in support of 365x7x24 coverage

  • Participate in calls with other members to address and troubleshoot application and or infrastructure related issues

  • Travel Approximately 15%

    YOU MUST HAVE

     

    • Bachelor€™s degree

    • Must have a minimum of 6 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of database technology (Oracle, ExaCC and AWS)

    • Must have a minimum 3 years of experience of Database Tuning

    • Must have a minimum 4 years of experience with Database Platform including Governance Integration, Security and Operations

       

      WE VALUE

       

      • Experience in database performance tuning and upgrades is required

      • Strong knowledge of Database automation activities (Cron or other)

      • Experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including: requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and production support

      • DevOps experience is a plus

      • Excellent oral, written and collaborative communication skills, including executive level communications

      • The ability to partner effectively across IT teams, suppliers and business customers on cross-functional projects and process improvements

      • Database patching tools like Oracle LifeCycle Management(ILM), Cron, Jenkins and Database security standards & Hardening concepts are needed.
