Medtronic Coronary and Structural Heart provides interventional devices to treat coronary arteries that are blocked by atherosclerotic plaque and devices and therapies to treat structural defects of the heart.


Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Heart Failure management provides devices that treat abnormal heart rhythms and life savings therapies during periods of heart failure. We are currently looking for a **Sr. Category Manager** in our CVG Global Supply Management organization to work in our **Mounds View, MN** facility.

**A Day in the Life**


In this role, the **Sr. Category Manager** will be a team contributor for the CVG Contract Manufacturing Category Team to create and execute sourcing strategies which support multiple sourcing value streams in the Cardiac Rhythm Heart Failure Management and the Coronary and Structural Hear businesses. Yow will be the relationship manager for the suppliers in this category and you will be responsible for building relationships externally with our key suppliers and internally with our stakeholders. You also will negotiate long term agreements with key suppliers and execute cost down strategies to meet/exceed year over year savings objectives.


_Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned._


+ Provides category management and sourcing expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity teams.

+ Provides support, in conjunction with the Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager, of the Contract Manufacturing Category Managers.

+ Facilitates these teams in the development and execution of long-term category strategies that will optimize Medtronic's position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost.

+ Negotiates, establishes and monitors supplier agreements

+ Builds strong, long-term relationships with key supply partners

+ Mitigates risk, leverages technology and purchase power, improves processes and systems, and reduces overall cost of ownership and acquisition.

+ Engages in consistent, open dialogue to understand Value Stream: business requirements, goals, objectives, strategies, supply/technology needs, monitoring, supporting, diversity, inventory and supplier issues.

+ Communicate supplier and commodity team strategies, actions and issues to VS Leadership, Global Sourcing Operations leadership.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


Requires a University Degree

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience


**Nice to Have**


+ Masters in Business or Engineering

+ Strong Negotiations Skills and Significant Agreement Negotiations Experience

+ Experience Sourcing Polymers, Molding and Extrusions
