As a Sr Biostatistician,
you will provide scientific and technical expertise as part of the
Biostatistics team to develop and maintain statistical support and meet
business needs. Provide statistical expertise and plan the development of
project-related solutions to the full scope of statistical (and programming)

TheMinimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG)strives
to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster complication-free
recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical

SURGICAL INNOVATIONSsets the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating
innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases and
conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic region,
and the head and neck.

**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities may
include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ Partner in trial design and inestablishing standards for clinical conduct, and the collection,management and/or reporting of data.

+ Partner with Clinical Researchstaff to evaluate different experimental methodologies and statisticalmodels to inform trial design and development.

+ Designs, plans and executes biostatisticalcomponents of plans for research and development projects that establishthe conditions essential for determining safety, efficacy, andmarketability of products.

+ Uses sound statisticalmethodology to conduct studies relating to the life cycle of the product.

+ In development-phase projects,prepares the statistical component of protocols which meet projectobjectives, health authority guidelines, and clinical trial methodologystandards.

+ Develops and/or appliesstatistical theories, methods, and software.

+ Summarizes and interprets datainto tabular and graphical formats amenable to principles of statisticalinference and is responsible for the statistical component of reportsdescribing studies, outcomes and methods used.

+ Provides specifications anddirections to the clinicians/statistical programmers.

+ Supports the regulatory reviewand approval of the experimental therapies.

**Must Have (MinimumRequirements):**

+ Bachelors degree and **4** years of statistics experience (e.g.,statistical/biostatistics analysis) or advanced degree with a minimum of **2** years of statistics experience (e.g.,statistical/biostatistics analysis)

**Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):**

+ Advanced degree in math orstatistics

+ Experience as a Biostatisticianat Medtronic or for a medical device or healthcare company

+ Extensive SAS or R programmingexperience

+ Experience working with largedata sets

+ Demonstrated ability to communicatetechnical content to non-statisticians (written and verbal)

+ Experiencein Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelinesfor clinical trials and medical devices (e.g. ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR)

+ Experience in experimental design

+ Understanding of statistics and statistical methods

+ Experience writing or updatingclinical reports/documents.

+ Strong written, oral, andinterpersonal communication skills including proficient knowledge ofmedical terminology.

+ Effectivestrategic, analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Proficiency in MS Officeapplications: Excel, PowerPoint and Word, Project (or similar schedulingsoftware), project management techniques and tools; andweb-basedapplications.

+ Ability to identify and implementsolutions

+ Excellent prioritization andorganization skills.

+ Abilityto work in a highly matrixed team environment
