Are you passionate about conducting research to drive changes and improve the employee experience of a million Amazonians globally? PXTCS team is hiring a Senior Behavioral Scientist to lead the research initiatives to support Manager Effectiveness across WWConsumer.

This role will drive behavioral and organizational changes, support data-driven decision made by business leaders, and facilitate innovative research that improves the experience of managers and their reports across the World Wide Consumer organization.

The ideal candidate should have a strong business acumen as well as expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods. This role will need to navigate complex and ambiguous business challenges by asking the right questions, understanding what methodologies to employ, and communicating results to multiple audiences (e.g., business and HR leaders, DEI business partners and program managers, technical peers, etc.)

Major responsibilities will include:

* Conducting research/experiments driven by hypotheses, analytics, and statistical modeling to deep-dive systemic and individual level drivers; combining quantitative and qualitative data to inform research.
* Using scientific literature and a deep understanding of behavioral/psychological theories to inform hypotheses and guide research.

* Managing the full life cycle of large-scale research initiatives (i.e., develop strategy, gather requirements, manage, and execute).
* Conducting focus groups and user interviews to augment findings from quantitative analysis.

* Collaborating with a cross-functional teams that have expertise in social science, machine learning, psychometrics, natural language processing, forecasting, optimization, business intelligence, analytics, and programs.
* Developing high-quality, evidence-based documents that provide insights to business leaders and gain stakeholder buy-in.
* Evaluating research initiatives to provide bottom line value, ROI, and incremental improvements over time.
* Sharing knowledge, advocating for innovative solutions, and mentoring others.
* Serving as a subject matter expert on a wide variety of topics related to research design, measurement, analysis, DEI and theories of behavior change.

Basic qualifications

* Masters or PhD in behavioral or social science such as: Cognitive Neuroscience, Social Anthropology, Learning Sciences, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.

* 5+ years of experience designing and running a full range of research methods after degree completion: qualitative (e.g. grounded theory, ethnographic, case studies etc.) and quantitative( inferential statistics, designing experimental and quasi-experimental studies) methods, attitudinal and behavioral research, with deep expertise in one or more area.
* Deep knowledge of theories of behavior change and behavioral science, including nudging, biases/heuristics, human motivation, habit formation, etc.
* Proficiency at least one statistical software program or scripting language (e.g., R, Stata, Python, etc.) and SQL
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences including high quality document and report preparations.
* Able to thrive in and contribute to a equitable and inclusive team environment for all.
* Experience working with cross-functional teams.
* Experience demonstrating high judgment and working with confidential or highly sensitive subject matter

Preferred qualifications

* Ability to engage business partners and stakeholders and solve an ambiguous business problems with appropriate choice of research and data solutions.

* Ability to influence and earn trust cross-functionally with business leaders, HR, DEI leaders, and other scientists.
* Executive-facing verbal and written communications and data presentation skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Master€™s degree or higher in a quantitative social science field (e.g., Psychology, Economics, Sociology, etc.).
· 5+ years conducting end-to-end scientific research in an applied setting.
· 3+ years developing and implementing measurement and causal models in an applied setting.
· Demonstrable expertise on research design methodologies for experiments, quasi-experiments, and non-experiments.
· Experience with qualitative research methodologies, including grounded theory, ethnography, focus groups, etc.
· Proficient with SQL and at least one statistical program (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SPSS).


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


· Conducting scientific HR research in manufacturing, production, distribution, or related industries.
· Deep understanding of societal systems of bias, and ability to apply this knowledge to invent, evolve, improve, and simplify business and HR processes.
· Good understanding of DEI analytics, specifically inclusion or engagement analytics.
· Applied understanding of the elements and principles of predictive modeling.
· Experience conducting research on a global scale.
· Experience working with cross-functional teams.
· Experience consulting with senior management and executives in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong organizational skills, time management, and program management skills.
· Adaptable, creative, and comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and change.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
