Seeking a Senior Advanced Test Equipment Hardware Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Clearwater, FL. The qualified individual will be a part of the Test Equipment Design & Development team.

The Test Equipment Hardware Design Engineer will utilize appropriate requirements, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle. New designs, ongoing support, troubleshooting and support to failure investigations will be required. We support a wide variety of test equipment in support of navigation and space applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consulting and corresponding with program and design personnel on the status of test equipment.
  • Lead on problems with test equipment operation to ensure all testing equipment remains operational and testing completion dates are maintained.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing test equipment if lower tier maintenance is unable to complete the task.
  • Planning and designing new test equipment, providing electrical schematics, test layouts, and complete documentation.
  • Reviewing new and modified customer specifications for correctness and impact on product performance and testing impact.
  • Plan and hold Test PDR (Preliminary Design Review) and CDR (Critical Design Review) meetings with customers and stakeholders.
  • Researching new test equipment and software needs for product testing and project planning.
  • Perform duties as CAM (Cost Account Manager) with monthly reporting on cost and schedule.
  • Quoting, ordering and tracking new equipment, components and software to ensure timely project completion.
  • Assisting in developing software for new and existing test equipment.
  • Consulting on technical problems as related to product test equipment or procedures.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in performing job duties and responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    YOU MUST HAVE

     

    • Bachelor€™s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
    • 8+ years€™ experience in test equipment design
    • Due to our contractual agreements, all applicants must be US Citizens

       

      WE VALUE

       

      • AutoCAD experience
      • Schematic and board layout for low to medium complexity test equipment boards
      • Experience with communication busses Mil-Std 1553, ARINC 429, IEEE 488, RS-422.
        Computer Architecture (bus standards, interrupts, memory) knowledge.
      • Experience with scripting languages, assembly languages, C, and a high order object-oriented language such as C++, Java, or C#.
      • Experience developing VHDL applications for FPGA designs as well as developing simulation via test bench and vectors.
