The Therapist-Per Diem is considered employed on an at-will basis with no guarantee of scheduled hours. Scheduling is done based on staffing need and availability. The Therapist-Per Diem staff member is expected to be available a minimum of 16 hours per month (2 weekend days a month). Speech Language Pathologist II- Per Diem/Acute Therapy Information for Posting: Summary of Essential Job Duties: Comprehensive knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques in a medical and physical disabilities setting. Perform evaluations Demonstrate appropriate treatment interventions and strategies Complete discharge planning for patients Supervise students Be a positive role model for staff and the profession Assist in the quality improvement process and program development Knowledge and experience with bedside swallow exams and modified barium/videoswallow evaluations Must possess a minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows or comparable system (specifically including keyboard and mouse skills). As applicable to individual job duties and expectations, employee must additionally possess a working knowledge of word processing, databases, presentation development, e-mail, browser and online reporting. Educational Requirements: Graduate of an accredited SLP school, with completion of CFY License/Certification/Registration Requirements: Valid and current license as a SLP in the state of California Valid and current CPR certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Experience: A minimum of 2 years clinical experience; working experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; prefer experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies, Fiberoptic Endoscopic Swallowing Studies, Tracheostomy speaking valves. Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking) Able to push, pull, lift up to 100 lbs on an intermittent basis; able to bend,stoop, sit, stand and walk without restrictions.
