UWMC's Outpatient Rehab Therapy has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time, temporary/hourly, SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST 1 (SLP 1).

  • Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering speech/language pathology evaluation and intervention to patients with communication and swallowing disorders, as referred by a licensed provider
  • Administers treatments as determined by the evaluation in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury
  • Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities
  • Assists to develop clinical programs for optimum patient care and service
  • Participates in operational aspects, performance improvement, and Quality Improvement activities within the department
  • Provides input in formulating budget, assists in evaluation of departmental performance, and takes action to remain in budget guidelines
  • Ensures that patient charges and documentation are accurate and entered on a timely basis
  • Supervises students, volunteers, and office assistants
  • Participates in infection control, equipment training, compliance, safety and educational programs, both at the departmental and organization level

    A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology or Communicative Disorders or equivalent degree approved by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association AND a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association.

    Current WA State Licensure in Speech Pathology (as Speech-Language Pathologist).

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a speech pathologist or equivalent is required
  • Strongly prefer experience/competencies in an outpatient neuro rehab environment including cognitive/communication assessment/treatment, dysarthria, and swallowing
