We are looking for a passionate, results-oriented Solution Architect to own the deployment and integration of a new platform to support our internal enablement tools and programs for the Solution Architecture (SA) community. You€™ll collaborate with SAs, software developers, vendors, and other program managers to drive a large scale integration of enablement platforms for the SA function.

As an SA in Amazon, you are expected to have technical ownership of your designs and services and influence good coding practices among your peers. Responsibilities include design, code, review, test, fix, research, deploy and maintain services and code in Amazon cloud production environments. Successful candidates will be strong developers who can prioritize well, develop at the highest standards in the industry, deal with ambiguous and non explored problem domains, and have a consistent track record of delivery.

This role can be performed near any US AWS office.

Key job responsibilities
€¢ Lead the integration and development of internal applications
€¢ Identify, track and resolve technical issues impacting multiple simultaneous projects.
€¢ Work with key stakeholders in Business, Operations, Engineering, and Service/Development teams to ensure requirements are translated into actionable roadmaps.
€¢ Manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and trade-offs against developer experience and time to market
€¢ Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team€™s ability to meet business goals
€¢ Communicate regularly with senior management, stakeholders on status, risks and change control
€¢ Establish business processes and policies, as well as metrics and indicators for success
€¢ Drive engineering and integration decisions and timelines across multiple teams and organizations
€¢ Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities

  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications or infrastructures
  • 8+ years within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)

€¢ A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
€¢ Highly proficient in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C++, C#, Objective-C, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, or Python
€¢ Strong knowledge of integrating multiple platforms and data sources
€¢ Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a clear commitment to making Amazon a great place to work
€¢ Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to have fun!


€¢ Experience in back end integration, systems integration, leveraging APIs, and 3rd party integration
€¢ Strong knowledge of integrating multiple platforms and data sources
€¢ Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end software systems and all points in between.
€¢ Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, CI/CD, testing and operations.
€¢ Demonstrated ability to work with other software engineers or software developers to integrate large scale applications

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $153,600 - $207,800[yr]; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
