Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary:

The Senior Software Engineer holds the responsibility of building and maintaining scalable solutions which comprise the Location Based Intelligence (LBI) software system. This position is responsible for being a leader in extending the current system as well as designing new solutions for the system as a whole. LBI is an n-tier on-premise software product that is purpose built to improve efficiencies in healthcare operations. This is accomplished by collecting and processing real-time data from external systems to provide actionable insights to staff and feed an analytics database.

Job Responsibilities:

u2022 Design, develop, test, support scalable applications in an Agile development environment;

u2022 Mentor other technical professionals in the areas of architecture, design, and code;

u2022 Estimate effort required to complete tasks given a set of requirements;

u2022 Design and develop solutions based on technical requirements;

u2022 Create and maintain automated tests and automated testing tools;

u2022 Work in a team environment as well as independently;

u2022 Create design documentation;

u2022 Provide assistance to customer support team for deployed products;

u2022 Lead design discussions with stakeholders;

What We Will Need:

Qualifications:

· BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, MIS degree or related work experience required;

· 5+ years experience in software development

· JavaScript experience required

· ES6 preferred

· React preferred

· Java experience required

· Experience in object oriented programming required;

· Experience designing and developing front end/GUIs required;

· Experience developing back end/Server-side software preferred;

· Demonstrable technical leadership experience in a team setting;

· Experience with design/development concepts such as High Availability/Concurrency/Code Reusability/Security;

· Experience with source code repo platforms such as Git;

· Experience in consuming and exposing web service APIs;

· Experience with RESTful APIs preferred

· Experience with message queueing products such as RabbitMQ and Kafka;

· Experience with relational database platforms such as MS SQL

· Familiarity with stored procedures and functions

· Familiarity with database design best practices

· Familiarity with database query optimization techniques

· Ability to handle being assigned to multiple projects at a time;

· Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;

· Strong presentation skills and proven presentation experience;

· Ability to adapt to change and take on new responsibilities;
