How will you make an impact?
Working alongside with other engineers, you will develop software applications and software drivers required to control and communicate with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s camera systems. You will be working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, new product development environment.

What will you do?
• Design and develop software applications for various imaging and spectroscopy applications with the principal goal being ease-of-use.
• Develop Application Programmable Interface (API) and adhere to Configuration Management (CM) practices for code development, testing, release and revisions.
• Actively contribute to the conceptualization, architecture, analysis and implementation of next generation camera systems.
• Software debug, hardware-software integration, and verification testing.
• Develop software drivers (Windows, LINUX, etc). Applicable interfaces include Ethernet, USB, PCI, and Frame Grabbers.
• Maintain existing software packages to resolve issues, improve performance, and expand functionality by adding new features. Follow document release guidelines for releasing updates.
• Stay cognizant of industry advancements in development tools, languages and propose investigations into new technologies aligned with our business goals and products.

How will you get here?
Education

B.S degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.

Experience
• 3+ years experience in software engineering, design, and test
• Proficiency in the following:
• Microsoft Visual Studio
• C/C++
• C# / .NET
• MS-Windows x86/x64 driver development (preferred)
• Familiar with Agile Project Management and software configuration management tools such as Team Foundation Server and Jira
• General proficiency in one or more of the embedded and real-time operating systems including Linux solutions, ETS, uC/OS
• Experience with DFM, DFT and FMEA concepts

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Ability to concurrently handle multiple project assignments and the ability to lead, as well as participate on, cross-functional project teams
• Strong knowledge with Python, VHDL, Verilog, AHDL, Java
• Knowledge in hardware interfaces (USB, PCI/PCIX/PCIe, Ethernet), digital video processing and/or vision/video standards, microprocessor, memory (DDR2+), and high-speed interface design (USB, PCI, PCI-X, PCIe, Ethernet, etc)
