Job summary
Amazon is investing heavily in building world class advertising solutions that shift away from using traditional cookies/identifiers to new modeled machine learning solutions to achieve campaign performance. Our products are strategically important to the advertising business as the intersection of consumer privacy and new ways of advertising is at a critical period of change. We deliver billions of ad impressions and clicks daily and are breaking fresh ground to build new avenues for advertisers.
The Frequency Management team provides advertisers and agencies a holistic, user privacy centric, frequency management program to maximize in-target audience reach with an optimal frequency across Amazon O&O properties, Audio, Video, Kindle devices and third-party sites. You will join a growing team of scientists, engineers and product managers that build and operate high-throughput (billions of ad impressions each day) serverless data pipelines, machine learning models and services that compute ad exposures and provide low latency APIs for ad serving. While todays platform once fit the needs of Amazon, the continued exponential growth of Amazon Ads have stretched the capabilities of the current system. You will work on a new green-field cloud architecture built to serve the needs of the future. Customers want to see ads at the right time, and with the right frequency. Similarly, advertisers want to reach more users, not the same user over and over. And we want to be doing this in a privacy centric way. This is a highly visible program across multiple organizations where you will have the opportunity to have a huge impact.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team of talented engineers to design and build cutting edge services that are core to Amazon's Advertising stack.
- Have end to end ownership of major engineering projects
- Define and develop a roadmap, key success metrics and team goals
- Build scalable data-intensive infrastructure that processes huge amounts of advertising data
- Hire and develop top talent, provide technical and career development guidance
- Partner with your customers, your engineers, science and other teams on what projects move forward and in what priority order
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
- Experience partnering with product OR program management teams
- 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
- 3+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience with increasing scope of responsibility
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in computational advertising
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services
- Advanced quantitative analytical abilities
