At Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketing - DataScience&Engineering team we are awash in data. Our team is looking for a software development engineer to help AWS Marketing teams in turning this huge data into information advantage. Our team is at the fore-front of the next generation of ML and Big Data tools. We support AWS Marketers and the analytics platform with data products that are simple to use, secure, and, extensible using the state-of-the-art AWS services and technologies.

Our key mission is to enable AWS Marketing team to measure the impact of various marketing initiatives/campaigns using analytics data products. Our platforms use technologies like AWS DynamoDB, EMR clusters, AWS Glue, AWS Redshift, AWS CodeDeploy, AWS EC2, AWS ElasticSearch, AWS CloudFront and various other internal Amazon tools. This role will involve designing and developing software products that impact many areas of AWS. The individual in this role will have responsibility help define requirements, create software designs, implement code to these specifications, provide thorough unit and integration testing, and support products while deployed and used by our stakeholders.
Most days, our entire team is co-located in the Seattle office, but we€™re also flexible when people occasionally need to work from home. We generally keep core in-office hours from 10am to 4pm. About half of us come in earlier and the other half of us stay later.

· 3+ years non-internship professional software development experience
· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
· Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#


· Bachelor€™s Degree in Computer Science or related field
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, operations and application security fundamentals
· Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
· Experience developing software services and knowledge of design for scalability, performance and reliability
· Strong experience on distributed systems and web services design and implementation
· Ability to take a feature/project from scoping requirements through actual launch
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
· Experience with backend RESTful APIs
· Experience with Agile methodologies
· AWS product experience and development on the AWS platform.
· Experience mentoring and training other engineers
· High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
· Meets/exceeds Amazon€™s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon€™s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
