Job summary
Amazon SCOT OIH (Optimal Inventory Health) team is looking for a talented software development engineer, who is passionate in solving actual problems in the supply chain. Our team is building scalable distributed systems on top of Native AWS based on Big Data to support the rapidly growing business of Amazon, e.g. Retail Global Expansion, Prime Now, UFF, Fresh, SSD, etc. The team owns the inventory disposition decisions, like markdown, deal, return, liquidation, etc. for millions of products to maximize long term free cash flow. You will work closely with senior engineers, scientists and business teams worldwide to develop advanced mathematical and economic models and algorithms. You will take end to end responsibility, utilize Amazon€™s massive data, sophisticated algorithms and cloud computation infrastructure (AWS) and thousands of powerful machines, and make decisions with billion dollar impact to Amazon€™s business. You will also become an expert in most sophisticated supply chain management in the world with deep understanding of Amazon retail business. In this role, you have the chances to improve the management of WW retail business, Grocery business, FBA business, and drive connections between the supply chain decisions and the marketing decisions across multiple organizations.


  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 1+ years of experience in software development

  • 1+ years€™ experience in software development in one or more of the following languages: Java, C++, Python or C.
  • OO design skills with understanding of common design patterns.
  • Strong data structures and algorithm knowledge.
  • Experience translating business requirements into operational systems;
  • Willingness to own all stages of development process: design, testing, implementation, operational support;
  • Major in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related area. Bachelor's degree or above.

  • Experience in working on big data or mathematical models.
