SoC Design Engineer

Job Description

Oversees definition, design, verification, and documentation for SoC (System on a Chip) development. Determines architecture design, logic design, and system simulation. Defines module interfaces/formats for simulation. Performs Logic design for integration of cell libraries, functional units and subsystems into SoC full chip designs, Register Transfer Level coding, and simulation for SoCs. Contributes to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Performs all aspects of the SoC design flow from highlevel design to synthesis, place and route, timing and power to create a design database that is ready for manufacturing. Analyzes equipment to establish operation infrastructure, conducts experimental tests, and evaluates results. May also review vendor capability to support development.

About the role:

In this role, you will need skills to dive deep into development of end to end Ethernet solutions which requires:

  • networking pipeline definition and implementation

  • system level designs enablement and optimization

  • components integration and hardware bring-up on target platform in lab

You will work hand-in-hand with a group of experienced engineers to deliver state of the art IPs and verify correctness, analyze specifications of Ethernet networking devices together with Intel software engineers and architects to deliver the next generation of our Ethernet platforms.

You will also take part in primitives for P4 compiler design, prototyping, implementation, and maintenance.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent, with relevant experience in FPGA design and validation

  • Familiar with FPGA design flow, experience including Verilog and System Verilog coding, function verification, hardware validation and FPGA debug, interest in HLD and domain specific languages such as P4.

  • Familiar with common EDA simulation tools like Questsim/modelsim, VCS

  • Some experience in Networking concepts such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, VxLAN,

  • Programming in C, C++ API programming

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Team player attitude

  • Knowledge of Ethernet devices, experience with design integration with software components and solution enablement on target platform

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
