Job Summary:

Manages cost planning, analysis, and reporting activities for assigned manufacturing entities. Makes recommendations to manufacturing entity leadership to reduce costs, scale for the future and meet regulatory compliance. May lead a few direct reports.

Job Duties:

• Manages cost planning, analysis and reporting activities for assign manufacturing site/s which likely includes: setting production cost standards for labor and material, maintaining and updating standard cost files, partnering with manufacturing entity managers to develop and track budgets, updating forecasts, providing variance analysis, providing product cost analysis,etc.

• Based on reporting and analysis, makes recommendations to save costs, scale for the future and manage data accuracy. This may include recommendations relating to purchase price, scrap, inventory cycle counts, work order volume, etc.

• Serves as finance subject expert for assigned manufacturing entity/ies and partners with site leaders for special projects.

• Likely manages a few individual contributor analysts, providing coaching and assigning goals which align to manufacturing entity operating plans.

• Provides month end reporting to finance department leadership.

• Provides required schedules for quarterly corporate reporting, external audits and internal audits.

• Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

• Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

• Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.



Works with standard office equipment, telephone, cellular phone, and personal computer. Operates a motor vehicle for trips to various Company sites and outside vendor, field, and customer locations; and to commute to various airports for airline travel.

Working Conditions:

Work environment varies from well lighted office/cubicle, low to moderate noise level, to a variety of conditions caused by travel requirements such as customer offices, research labs, hospitals, hotels, use of automobiles, commercial travel, weather, etc.

Physical Demands: .

Activities require a significant amount of sitting in front of a computer monitor, some standing and walking. Significant use of hands and arms, plus finger dexterity to reach, point, write, type, operate a computer and other office equipment. Performs tasks that regularly require good correctable vision and hand/eye coordination. Activities also require significant use of voice and hearing for discussions with other employees.


• Requires a degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

• Requires 8 years of experience in accounting or finance, progressively responsible experience in cost analysis/reporting in manufacturing organization.

• Prefer a minimum of 3 years experience in medical device industry.

• Prefer a minimum of 5 years experience working with cost/finance systems.

• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and manufacturing issues.

• Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

• Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

• Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

• Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

• Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

• Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

• Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

• Ability to travel approximately 15%, including internationally.

• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.


May lead sub-functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements.
