Your Role and Responsibilities
Compliance Engineer PhD candidate: Design/test execution and evaluation of Structural(Shock and Vibration) solutions for mainframe products. Efforts include product design reviews, testing, level predictions and producing agency approvals. Work will involve interfacing with mechanical development engineers to develop optimum and cost effective design solutions. Candidate being sought should be a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering . Equivalent job experience in these fields will also be considered. Currently the laboratory is active in the area of mainframe hardware development and testing for IBM systems..

This position is located in Poughkeepsie, NY

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Typical Mechanical engineering skills. Statics, dynamics, structural, strength of materials, design, analytics. Strong research and development skills in order to find new techniques and processes to improve mainframe structural integrity design and shorten Structural Compliance testing processes. Strong leadership skills are also required to implement new techniques and processes across IBM development platforms and the Compliance Industry

Background in Mechanical engineering
