The CCS, a Lummus Co., Shipping and Receiving Clerk is an important role that is responsible for keeping records of all products shipped and received in the company, so that the warehouse runs smoothly. The SRC is also responsible for creating mailing labels and shipping documents to ensure that all orders have been filled correctly. They will also send, accept and record the movement of parts, supplies and materials.  Lifting of up to 50lbs at times is required along with the ability to operate a forklift or pallet moving equipment. Forklift training will be provided to qualified candidates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performing packing and unpacking of shipments.

Preparing shipping documents and creating mailing labels.

Maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Consolidating stock and putting away incoming shipments to proper areas.

Verifies incoming parts against packing list, records shortages and reject per company policies.

Assumes the responsibility of and follows through on major projects of stock movement.

Aides in the investigation of all variances and potential discrepancies.

Reads, understands, and uses specific computer-generated reports to aid in the implementation of job duties.

Interprets inventory/production schedules to determine requirements and the proper distribution of same.

Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined product part number and location.

Maintains proper record keeping of all materials issued.

Understands and maintains stock location scheme.

Opens bales, crates, and other containers, also weighs or counts items for distribution.

Arranges stock parts in specified order for assembly.

Drives forklift and electrical transporter throughout the plant to deliver and pick up materials.

Completes requisition forms to order supplies from plant departments.

Observer that all work areas are clean, neat, and well organized and observes company safety rules

Basic Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

1 year or more experience working in a team environment successfully

Some experience in or related knowledge of shipping, receiving, purchasing & inventory

Ability to read, write & comprehend instructions, correspondence & other information

Being able to perform repetitive tasks

Flexible to occasional work late and on weekends

Experience with MS Office, Excel & ability to perform specific shipping/receiving exercises in relevant software

Basic math skills with the ability to use calculator

Self-starter work style 

Computer experience (excel, access, outlook), must be able to type

Forklift and pallet jack operation ability 

Some experience in or related knowledge of shipping, receiving, purchasing, inventory

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

Physical duties involved in performing this position include but are not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, standing, crouching, reaching overhead, stooping, kneeling. Position requires repetitive motion, lifting up to 50 pounds, exerting up to 50 pounds of force to move objects, standing 8-12 hours per day, driving a motor vehicle such as a forklift  working from height, and ability to ascend/descend from ladders. Wearing of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction is required and passing any medical examination associated with the use of PPE when applicable is required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
