The function of this position is to supervise shift operations for the Analysis Engineering lab maintaining safety, quality and efficiency. The shift supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the shift workload and resources in the AE lab while working closely with Operations TR and management. Shift supervisor will also utilize AE Request system to monitor progress and allocate resources to ensure analysis requests completed on time. He or she will also supervise training of new and current team members in AE team procedures and certifications. Finally, this is a hands-on position where the supervisor expected to learn how to perform some of the duties carried out by the staff under their supervision.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Uphold company policy and ground rules.
  • Manage on-shift analysis priorities working closely with AE Engineering.
  • Maintain a safe environment throughout the lab.
  • Coordinate training, mentoring, performance and career development to personnel on shift. Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures and Certifications are properly updated and clear.
  • Establish and maintain good communication links between Engineers and Lab Technicians.
  • Communicates detailed plans for work assignments.
  • First point of contact for issues that arise on the shift.
  • Carry out performance management as needed for low performers.
  • Manage personnel Time Cards through ULTIPRO System.
  • Manage Time Off Request to ensure proper shift coverage.
  • Communicates effectively Shares information and encourages candid and open dialog. Ensures that people share information and have access to information they need to perform their tasks effectively.
  • Samsung Systems Understands the Samsung production systems needed to operate the business successfully.
  • Responsible and completes work without close supervision Ability to work independently, solve problems and move ahead without constant instructions.
  • Work days and hous: CWW, D-Shift/

Skills and Qualifications

  • Two years of college or technical school (preferred, but not required).
  • Three to five years experience in Semiconductor field (preferred, but not required).
  • Leadership ability Confident, knows himself or herself well, encourages respect and builds trust among peers and others.
  • Leadership qualities Conducts duties of the position with truthfulness, sincerity, and fairness.
  • Promotes key values Consistently demonstrates work ethics and values.

  • Technical judgement Applies knowledge of the business specific to tasks and takes the best analytical approach in decision making
  • Technical ability Preferably, have some previous Failure Analysis experience that enables him/her to assist in shift work.
  • Results Driven Directs his/her actions and the service of others toward achieving key department KPI goals.
  • Must be a safety conscious person.
  • Must have to the ability to work with small quantities of chemicals (as trained).
  • Must have the ability to use polishing wheels and operate in a wet lab environment (as trained).
  • Must have the ability to operate FIB as outlined in the SOPs (as trained).
  • Review and Interpret TEM submissions for team members.
  • Position requires good wafer handling skills, along with use of tweezers and cleaving blades. Also must be able to handle small sample grids. Steady hands a must to handle the small samples.
  • Able to be a quick learner.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Able to manipulate small features.
  • Able to work alone with little direction.
  • Able to operate various Samsung software applications.
  • Able to use various AE Structure Analysis tool sets (as trained).
  • Moderate Microsoft Office skills are needed for revision and occasionally creation of documents
  • Must be able to sit and focus for long hours.
