Job Description

DCG (Data Center Group) is looking for an experience LINUX CLOUD System Administrator for the new generation servers. As part of this role you will be responsible to setup, enable and manage large number of systems in clusters using the lasted and greatest technology ingredients including technologies under development.

In this role you are responsible for monitoring, maintaining, upgrading, testing, troubleshooting and recycling of multiple systems(computer servers) in a distributed computing environment. Monitors usage, load and performance of remote or locally sited servers. Installs and tests operating systems, databases and/or supported enterprise applications. Troubleshoots for errors, performs recovery steps remotely or on site. Researches, recommends and/or implements system enhancements that will improve server/OS/application reliability, security and performance. May formulate, recommend and/or monitors policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.

As part of this role, this person also perform some Project Management activities including lead the project team and is key interface to the project or contributors. Identifies and refines project objectives. Works on or delegates, as appropriate, problems/tasks in delivery of specific objectives or general goals. Develops solutions to problems by exercising judgment and discretion. Interprets and applies controlling business strategies or corporate policies and deviates as judged appropriate. Identifies tasks and research, determines dependencies, assesses costs, and identifies and assigns specific resources, and communicates expectations to team members. Creates/tracks/adjusts the project or program schedule. Assesses risks and identifies issues and solutions to timely and efficiently achieve program goals or project objectives while maintaining quality standards. Monitors progress against schedule and determines and takes remedial action as appropriate. Coordinates and prioritizes utilization of resources with other functions. Plans and schedules work ensure the completion of intermediate milestones and overall project or program in timely manner. Influences or sets business unit or cross-organizational strategy. Understands the technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, and disciplines associated with the defined projects, applies the knowledge to deliverable, and leverages it to accelerate project completion.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Build, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure up-grades
  • Diagnose and correct computer systems issues
  • Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support of LINUX CLOUD SERVERS
  • Recommend software and hardware enhancements
  • Understand customer requirements, priorities and time line needs
  • Manage and track program schedules, technical issues, risks, priorities, costs and budget
  • Implement risk mitigation strategy
  • Coordinate activities with support teams as IT, CS, vendor, suppliers, etc
  • Manage internal and external suppliers and stakeholders to implement risk mitigation strategies and serve as the escalation point to remove roadblocks to ensure program execution success
  • Integrate internal stakeholders and external supplier schedules and deliverables into a project plan
  • Manage a support team to make sure they meet the SLA, and escalate if necessary
  • Manage access to the pool systems
  • Manage the system queue and priorities within the stakeholder

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following :

  • Experience with LINUX SERVER ADMINISTRATION and Orchestration Knowledge: CONTAINERS, KUBERNETES, ELASTICSEARCH/KIBANA AND PROMETHEUS/GRAPHANA
  • Strong influencing skills with experience influencing at all levels of the organization, including senior management within Intel and within a customer's organization
  • Implementation of complex processes and tasks teams while working cross-divisionally
  • Experience managing effective external customer relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to lead at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Team player with a "can-do" attitude
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills


Qualifications

  • Bachelor or a Master of Engineering degree or a Master of Science degree in Computer or Electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience with managing project costs (planning/tracking/EAC), schedule, risk management, and change control processes
  • 3+ years of experience Required OS Knowledge: Windows & Linux. Bare Metal + Virtual machines, VM Ware, Hyper-V, Container
  • 2+ years of experience Scripting experience with Python, Perl, Bash, KSH
  • 2+ years of experience with designing and implementing an enterprise Linux and Vmware environment
  • 3+ years of experience with network configuration and architecture

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience with middle ware
  • 2+ years of experience Tools update methodology for SW (Including uCode, FW, Drivers, Bios, content)
  • 2+ years of experience Cluster Qual Plan strategy, and indicator of progress, telemetry
