**A Day in the Life**

The New Product Development Supplier Quality Engineer (NPD-SQE) contributes to and leads all aspects of suppliers and parts quality through supplier selection strategy, supplier development, and part qualification and will be responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining the New Product Introduction Transfer to production quality system. This role assists new product development teams and suppliers in providing parts that consistently meet quality, delivery, and cost requirements.NPD-SQE requires broad knowledge of manufacturing methodologies, design control systems, and quality management practices.

This position requires familiarity and ability to work with suppliers located worldwide.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ Conducts supplier selection, assessments, quality system audits and approval/dis-approve suppliers as part of new product development and design changes projects.

+ Responsible for the part qualification process (PPAP, IQ/OQ/PQ, D/PFMEA and FAI)

+ Work with RD, suppliers/ Contract Manufacturers/ Internal Manufacturing sites and ensures production transfer in executed as per transfer quality plan and their quality standards are in line with company SOPs and agreements

+ Provides feedback to design teams regarding suppliers, capabilities, tolerance, specifications, measurement and test methodologies

+ Assures supplier compliance to relevant quality and regulatory standards

+ Is a liaison between NPD teams and suppliers on technical or quality issues

+ Works directly with suppliers to achieve goals including some travel on short notice

+ Assures Corrective and Preventive Action plans are developed and executed at assigned suppliers in compliance with the SCAR process

+ Is informed about advancement in area of expertise and is knowledgeable about new rules, regulations, and standards

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Experience in supplier quality management

Green or Black belt Six Sigma Certification (DFSS or DMAIC)

Quality Certification CQE/ CRE


Five (5) years experience in engineering practice or supplier quality management

Two (2) years experience in quality/reliability engineering practice in a medical regulated environment (FDA 21 CFR, ISO 13485.


Ability to work with a supplier on requirements, process improvements, and capability studies

Background in six-sigma, LEAN, Dfx, and related quality management tools

Familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or 21CFR820 requirements

Ability to resolve complex problems requiring detailed analysis, calculation, or experimentation

Commodity expertise in cables, Electro-Optic, PCBA, sheet metal stamping and platting

Familiar with cleanliness and sterility standards

Knowledge of project management methodology

Skills in personal computer spreadsheet, word processor and engineering tools

Effective verbal and written communication
