Job Title: Senior Scientist

How will you make an impact?
Responsible for utilizing advanced chromatography instrument systems to drive the development of new analytical chemicals and bio-reagents.
What will you do?
- Assess and formulate new chemical reagents for use with advanced chromatography instruments
- Collaborate with Product Management to develop product specifications to meet market needs
- Contribute to the development of technical content for marketing programs
- Participate in new product development projects involving cross functional teams (operations, marketing, and sales) within a stage-gate process
- Take charge in originating, applying, and documenting new analytical methods and techniques to solve problems in R&D and to support existing chemical manufacturing processes and products
- Deliver technical presentations and written reports/publications (in-house and peer-reviewed) of new products and applications
- Update specifications and test methods to ensure chemical products are compliant with periodical monograph & specification changes from pharmacopeia (USP, EP, BP, JP, NF) and American Chemical Society (ACS)
- Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting in support of plant operations
- Monitor research trends to ensure leading edge development of relevant chemical products via literature searches and customer visits.
How will you get here?
Education
- MS/PhD in Analytical Chemistry/Bioanalytical Chemistry and 3+ year relevant work experience, or BS degree and 7+ year experience (industry preferred)
Experience
- Broad knowledge and experience in chemical analyses, experimental design, and statistical quality control
- Strong technical skills in the field of separation science including HPLC, LC-MS, LC-CAD, IC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, distillation, electrophoresis
- Experience with other analytical techniques such as AA, FTIR, Karl Fischer, gravimetric methods, titrimetric methods, and colorimetry methods
- At least two publications (first author preferred) in peer-reviewed scientific journals

- Ability to handle timelines and prioritize effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated dependability, team player, and positive attitude
- Excellent problem solving capabilities, strong interpretative data analysis, and high degree of computer literacy
- Demonstrated interpersonal and networking skills by mentoring individuals, team participation, group teaching, seminar/poster presentations, and customer communication
- Project management skills preferred
