How will you make an impact?

  • A dynamic and self-motivated individual is required to contribute to the development, evaluation, introduction, and support of state-of-the-art LC-MS instrumentation. As a member of the Thermo Fisher Scientific HPLC Research and Development organization, the candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team that includes marketing professionals, product development scientists, and engineers.
What will you do?
  • The individual will participate in specification development, verification and validation planning, and formal evaluation of multichannel chromatography systems.
  • Work cooperatively with product marketing during specification development to maintain alignment with test strategy and capabilities.
  • Plan, document, and execute verification and validation tests to ensure that new product specifications and requirements are met.
  • Develop long-term collaborative relationships with marketing, product support and operations groups.
  • Provide support for successful handoff of new products to the relevant factory and field organizations.
  • Contribute to the resolution of escalated customer complaints by providing scientific, technical, and application support.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

How will you get here?

Education
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Chemistry and 8+ years of experience or a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry or relevant field with 3+ years of experience required.
  • Ph.D. in relevant field may be considered in lieu of work experience.

Experience
  • Knowledge of HPLC-MS use and practices in high-throughput, routine use environments.
  • A strong understanding of bioanalysis and LC-MS, including method development with triple quadrupole mass spectrometers, is required.
  • Experience conducting experiments and operating instruments as utilized in clinical or pharmaceutical settings.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Experience working in cooperation with marketing team members within a structured product
  • development environment.
  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Must be willing and able to travel occasionally
