How will you make an impact?
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Retirement Benefits Manager to join our organization in a newly created position. Within this position you will manage all aspects of retirement benefits including pension in the North America market.

You will act as the focal point for all retirement benefits including pension matters in North America on behalf of the company and take responsibility for operational decisions.

What will you do?

  • Coordinate operational management and strategic planning for retirement benefit matters, by connecting with the global Total Rewards team, Finance colleagues, external advisors and trustee / governance groups
  • Support plan management and governance with a focus on defined benefit and defined contribution plan in US, Canada and Puerto Rico
  • Liaise with all relevant internal and external partners when addressing retirement issues
  • Recommend appropriate actions to senior management when non-routine decisions need to be made
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and project manager for implementation of plan design changes, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate action activity including but not limited to payroll consolidations and union changes
  • Maintain a continuing awareness of developments in the retirement and pension field (legislation changes, general trends, governance enhancements, etc) and advise senior management as necessary
  • Partner with third party administrator to ensure plan and regulatory compliance and overseeing the quality control of pension calculations and pension distributions
  • Support wider employee benefits projects where required
  • Research inquiries from management, HR and plan participants
  • Create and present financials and plan statistics to management and internal business partners

How will you get here?

  • Degree level of education as a minimum, ideally with postgraduate qualifications in Finance, HR and Actuarial Science
  • Must be knowledgeable in Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension plans with 6+ years of experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Significant experience working in the retirement benefits area in North America in order to have the breadth of knowledge required for this role- Canada experience is a plus
  • Previous management experience within the retirement field in order to understand the complexity involved in efficiently managing pension schemes
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state benefit and tax laws and regulations, including ERISA and HIPAA
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to liaise effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and advisors
  • Leading change management initiatives would be a major benefit, as would exposure to mergers, acquisitions and divestments
  • Ability to organize, set priorities, work independently and complete multiple project/tasks with established deadlines
