Senior Project/Technical Solar Manager
Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Solar Manager to join our growing Energy Team.
This position will perform project management and technical tasks on a variety of projects focusing on solar renewable energy projects, including energy storage. The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed individual with an excellent understanding of managing and executing solar projects (due diligence and construction) and designing solar projects.
In addition, the successful candidate should have
Current and relevant contacts in the solar PV sector
Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills
Proven ability to effectively communicate expectations and requirements with both clients and team members
An ability to apply acquired expertise and knowledge to solve business challenges and provide coaching to peers and team members
A track record of leveraging relationships to expand work with existing clients, identify new clients and recruit and retain in-house staff

The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Interface regularly with the clients to identify project needs, communicate engineering solutions, and strengthen client relationships.
Working with interdisciplinary technical leads in coordinated successful execution of projects
Coordinating internal resources and third parties/subcontractors for the execution of projects
Supporting changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs to minimize risk
Reporting and escalating to management as needed
Maintaining project documentation control
Develop cost estimates to determine ROI
Write technical reports to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders
Review solar engineering design packages
Review energy production modeling
Developing and maintaining good client relationships across the portfolio
Lead and support development of technical proposals.
Training others to learn project management skills
Help recruit and build a team of professionals to support the growth strategy

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering field
6+ years of relevant experience in energy services or related industry with:
Renewable energy assessment, design, or development (solar, wind, or energy storage)
PVSyst or Helioscope (energy production modeling)
Knowledge of solar array layouts, equipment layouts.
Single line diagrams
Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects in multiple locations
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of experience in utility scale, commercial and Industrial scale solar project design and construction
Familiar with module and inverter OEMs, and US based constructors.
Working knowledge of utility transmission and distribution in California
Demonstrated experience leading a diverse team of professionals including, but not limited to: project managers, construction managers, project controls professionals, estimating, public outreach, procurement professionals, environmental profession
Fluency Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Excel
