Based in Houston, Texas, this critical Leadership role reports to the Head of SCM for Siemens Energy, Oil & Gas, and supports the immense growth of the Houston and Olean factories, as well as the Services Management Team.



Position Overview



Lead a Staff of talented Project Management professionals (typically 4 to 8 employees)



Coordinate overall strategic planning of projects and decides on allocation of resources



Monitor the status of all assigned projects and supports the accountable Project Manager



Manage consolidation/completion/reporting of logistic budget planning for all projects



Maintain quality standards; Initiate improvements and ensure PM workflow environment



Scope of Role



Align assigned policies, guidelines, procedures and/or products with operational strategies



Analyzing operation, set up and prioritize tactical targets, and determine courses of action



Monitor/Adhere to budgets; Allocate resources efficiently; Lead cross-functional Teams



Look for pooling opportunities on exports; Support cost savings measures to reduce cost



Ensure competitive quoting process, & compliance to use Forwarders with negotiated rates



Project export quoting & Transport Engineering; Damage claim facilitation; Invoice resolution



Facilitate business spend reports-PVO; Participate in quarterly carrier performance reviews



Facilitate insurance claims to Risk Management; EDI Carrier setup and data-mapping



Meet with existing and new Forwarders for new opportunities and competition



Alert businesses and ECC on Customs compliance issues; Create/Implement SOP's



Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience



1) Polished Type A professional, natural Team Player, and a Process Improvement Practitioner



2) Minimum 5-8 years global logistics experience; Bachelors degree in related discipline preferred



3) Works with high sense of urgency; Deep knowledge of relevant tariffs and freight statutes



4) Sound professional judgment, problem-solving, influencing, & relationship building competencies



5) Preferred SAP & MS Project fluency; Proficiency in MS Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint



6) Superior ability to manage Staff Planning/Shaping individual & Team productivity & performance
