Job Purpose

The Senior Supervisor is responsible for the safety, reliability, security and integrity of the work site, through the daily supervision and organization of operations personnel in order to complete job tasks while complying with Company and Regulatory policies.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure timely development of distribution construction designs, plans and other requirements in order to meet business plan goals and construction schedules.
  • Ensure that designs are complete, accurate and buildable, material correct, and scope is the least cost solution to meet design intent and to maintain customer satisfaction within the region.
  • Ensure staff adheres to Distribution Design Standards/Processes.
  • Interface externally with major Industrial and Commercial customers and stakeholders.
  • Supervise direct reports in their response to delivery system outages and contingencies.
  • Ensure reliability for our customer base by responding to trouble tickets with crews
  • Develop and maintain effective communications with Union Leadership and all department employees.
  • Manage performance metrics for group and individual performance.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Strong leadership, influencing, customer orientation and communication skills, providing the ability to promote team working and harmonious working between site staff, project teams and contractors.


Ability to work shift hours, 2:30-11pm Monday-Friday, plus potential on call shifts which could include days, weekends, and holidays.  (Shift Differential applies)

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (Desirable), OR Associate of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or related technical field.

A minimum of 8+ years of related experience.

This position requires driving.  A valid driver's license and a driving record which meets National Grid's Safe Driver Policy is required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Negotiations skills. Demonstrates project leadership skills.
