How will you make an impact?

You will be supporting the mechanical design, development and documentation of water purification and water analysis products developed in an R&D environment. Interfacing with cross functional teams, you will develop mechanical/electromechanical designs through all stages of the product lifecycle.

What will you do?

  • Define, design, test, and develop mechanical designs and specifications for new products that support product requirements.
  • Develop tests and analyze resulting data and reports to verify designs meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Perform root-cause investigations on systems and components to correct problems, improve product quality and reliability.
  • Work with cross-functional project and project management teams to develop and execute detailed schedules and assure smooth production release of new products.
  • Participate in review and optimization of company processes related to data management, revision control, configuration management, and documentation standards.
  • Utilize Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly concepts to optimize manufacturing processes, ease of service, and identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor team members while driving processes, projects, or initiatives that are critical to the success within the team and across functional groups

How will you get here?


Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or another technical field, or significant equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in the design and development of electro-mechanical products
  • Strong background in plastic designs that include injection molding and thermoforming, as well as sheet metal, machined parts, electronics, and fluidic components; fluid management highly preferred
  • Highly proficient with 3D modeling software; SolidWorks
  • Experience with data management systems (PDM Professional) and Product Lifecycle Management system
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects and leading teams

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Good knowledge of ANSI drafting standards and GD&T
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment and integrate global standards and regulations into design
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exits
  • Prior experience with water purification products, analytical instruments, fluid pumping and/or chemistry is a strong plus
  • Experience with performing ECOs, creating/updating Bill of Materials (BOM); SAP preferred
