Reports to: <\/strong>Branch Manager<\/p>

 <\/p>

Position Purpose:<\/strong>  Working closely with the Engineering Manager, leading on various projects, and maintaining the technical competence and production requirements of the discipline.<\/p>

 <\/p>

Specific Responsibilities Include:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Analyze existing data to forecast business decisions regarding budget forecasting, budget variances, client profitability, risk management and report findings to the Engineering Manager or Regional Director as appropriate.<\/li>
  • Work as the Project Manager, Relationship Manager or Technical Specialist to provide our clients with finished projects in a timely manner.<\/li>
  • Plan or review projects requiring the expenditure of a considerable amount of manpower and financial investment.<\/li>
  • Determine basic operating standards, and accomplish objectives in the most economical manner to manage unusual conditions.<\/li>
  • Understand and participate in resolving issues with cost control, non-recoverable expenditures, and utilization.<\/li>
  • Communicate effectively with team members.<\/li>
  • Act as a mentor/coach to staff.<\/li>
  • Share expertise with other offices.<\/li>
  • Maintain technical capability.<\/li>
  • Provide technical expertise on projects.<\/li>
  • Work with others to increase the overall technical competence of the discipline.<\/li>
  • Identify completed projects in your discipline that are eligible for technical awards, ensure projects are submitted.<\/li>
  • Work with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Relationship Managers and Regional Directors to secure large multi-company projects.<\/li>
  • Actively perpetuate and clarify WEC culture and values.<\/li>
  • Build and maintain a well developed network of colleagues for solving unique engineering problems.<\/li>
  • Stay current with changes in own discipline.
    • Stamp own project design and reports and that of engineers in training for whom you are providing peer review as appropriate.<\/li> <\/ul><\/li><\/ul>

      Education<\/h2>
      • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering<\/li>
      • 15+ years of experience in building consulting engineering<\/li>
      • P.Eng. status with EGBC<\/li>
      • May hold Masters Degree in Engineering<\/li><\/ul>

        Qualifications<\/h2>
        • Proven work experience, capability and interest in sales, business development and proposal writing.<\/li>
        • Interest in developing into a leadership role within the Victoria office. <\/li>
        • Excellent interpersonal skills; a person who listens well, respects diversity of opinions and has an open, clear and succinct communication style.<\/li>
        • Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines.<\/li>
        • Ability to represent the company to the staff, clients and community by ensuring the best image is presented.<\/li>
        • Application knowledge of programs (including Microsoft O365, Deltek Vision, AutoCAD, Revit MEP).<\/li>
        • Understanding and ability to apply marketplace trends to create and implement a marketing plan.<\/li>
        • Holds a senior position in technical or business association.<\/li>
        • Understands viability of other disciplines design.<\/li><\/ul>
