Senior Marketing Manager, Local Marketing

Your Role:

If youre a persuasive, analytically rigorous, highly collaborative leader that is adept at bringing ideas to life in creative ways you may be the perfect match for our Senior Marketing Manager, Local Marketing position located in Wilmington, DE or McLean, VA.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in amplifying the differentiated experiences available at our locations and in redefining how consumers engage with their money - today and in the future. The Senior Marketing Manager, Local Marketing will be responsible for developing an overarching strategy to impact consumer behavior and for leading a team to execute against that strategy to drive increased business performance and lift across critical markets. Key aspects of this will include but are not limited to defining an approach to content that will scale the impact of our unique customer experience, as well as utilizing emerging MarTech and digital capabilities to deliver a tailored Banking Reimagined value proposition for targeted segments of pre-customers and customers across our geographic footprint. In short, we need an innovative marketer who is up for the challenge of reshaping how millions of consumers will bank in the 21st century, by crafting campaigns that increase awareness of our convenient banking options, create buzz around our retail experience, and drive traffic to, or increase utilization of, our differentiated physical network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 8-10 associates to create marketing initiatives that will highlight Capital Ones reimagined banking experience and leverage our physical network as a driver of consideration and, ultimately, choice.

  • Develop and execute geographically targeted and/or micro targeted messaging to communicate our value proposition and drive business lift in critical markets.

  • Define a content strategy to reinforce our Banking Reimagined message to local audiences in a buzz-worthy manner that will drive sharing and word-of-mouth for wow experiences.

  • Collaborate with agencies, digital marketing partners, social media and video production teams to bring to life strategies highlighting our differentiated local experience.

  • Create an innovative test-and-learn agenda with an emphasis on digital targeting capabilities in order to optimize the impact of our local marketing investments.

  • Execute localized campaigns to increase awareness and drive traffic to new and existing retail locations.

  • Initiate market research and customer intelligence projects with internal teams and external vendors to harvest insights and inform campaigns.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree

  • At least 7 years marketing experience

  • At least 3 years leading and coaching a marketing team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA in Marketing or Strategy from a top business school.

  • Marketing experience at a leading financial services or consumer/retail company.

  • Experience with digital marketing and targeted, one-to-one messaging strategies

  • Proven track record managing agencies and delivering world-class marketing.

  • Experience operating in Agile working model.

  • Partner effectively with cross-functional teams, work autonomously, and navigate ambiguity.

  • Persuasive communicator both orally and in writing.
