Your Role and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for components of the Acoustic Marketing platform technologies and development of world-class applications that are used by thousands of SaaS enterprise customers. The Acoustic Marketing platform is widely regarded as one of the top few marketing platforms in the world.

Responsible for growth and development of software developers, technical leads and architects. Responsibilities include mentoring, directing, influencing and motivating associates with varying degrees of knowledge and skill sets. Responsible for quality and effectiveness of all technical components implemented on the marketing platform. Measure quality, usability and effectiveness of solutions to look for improvements. Ensure Senior leadership and other departments (product, sales and marketing) are informed on issues and progress for products in their platform. Assists executives and/or senior leaders in defining organizational goals and strategic plans. Extensive technical knowledge with solid understanding of the business and functional area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the local development function including the growth and development of direct reports.
  • Work with Product Management, Engineering, Release Management and QA management to ensure automation and performance test activities are fully integrated into the overall product development lifecycle.
  • Responsible for hiring and coaching developers and ensuring squads are properly staffed with the right skills for engineering excellence
  • Assist in the development of product roadmaps and overall engineering strategy
  • Ensure successful deployments of Acoustics products to production environments in a continuous deployment environment while maintaining high quality
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role may manage staff and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Corporate policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include: interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

INTERACTION:
This role will work closely with key departmental and project stakeholders across the organization. Therefore, the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management and staff within the organization is a key priority in this role.




Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Education in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related technical field, unless there is significant, relevant work experience.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive, hands-on software development experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience leading or managing development efforts, including leadership development and process improvement.
  • Experience building SaaS web applications in a cloud environment
  • Experience managing with matrixed resources and influencing outside of the organization
  • Experience managing directly or indirectly teams of 10+ staff is required.
  • Strong understanding of standards and technologies used in web-based applications is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Java, database concepts and cloud technologies is required.
  • Experience working within a Scrum/kanban framework for Agile Software Development is required.

  • Knowledge of email and mobile technology and marketing automation.

  • Keep up-to-date on technology trends, developments & best practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical & non-technical audiences.
