As a finance leader on the Group Shared Functions Team, this Sr. Manager Finance, FP&A will have direct exposure to several key members of the senior leadership team. This position is responsible for providing strong, strategic business partnership and consolidation support in a Global, Functional and Divisional environment. Key contributions of this role include the development and execution of the Annual Operation Plan (AOP), oversight and consolidation of the monthly / quarterly forecasting cycles, alignment of team goals to business operating expectations and leadership of all financial analysis, reporting, control and continuous improvement activities across the Functions and Divisions supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of the Monthly and Quarterly Forecasting and Annual Operating Plan cycles through establishment and communication of key deliverables, calendars, processes and reporting;
  • Oversight all finance activities, including coordination with Accounting counterparts to drive P&L accuracy and control;
  • Consolidation of all Global, Functional and Divisional business activities and subsequent reporting packages;
  • Drive meaningful insights and related actions in support of expense optimization;
  • Preparation and modeling of business cases/financial justifications for investment projects to ensure appropriate resource allocation and ROI;
  • Provision of strategic advisory support to Global, Functional and Divisional business partners;
  • Ideation and implementation of continuous improvement activities;
  • Coaching and development of direct reports.
  • BS degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA, CPA or CMA preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Superior relationship building skills: ability to influence management at all levels and lead major projects and initiatives
  • Experience leading complex consolidations with accuracy, timeliness and effectiveness
  • Capacity to successfully navigate and thrive a heavily matrixed environment
  • Outstanding prioritization skills (keen ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Strong track record of driving business accountability and continuous improvement activities
  • Demonstrated success attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining high-potential talent
  • Superlative communication skills
  • Embodiment of Thermo Fisher’s core values: Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation
  • Experience with Visualization Tools (Power BI, Tableau), Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning, SAP and E1 a plus.
  • Expertise in MS Excel and Power Point
