This position represents Operations on Development projects as a CTOR (Core Team Operations Representatives) and provide leadership to an extended project team comprised of individuals from Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Category Management, Sourcing, Contract Manufacturers / OEM, Supplier Quality, and other functions as needed to drive successful development and commercialization of new products. This position is responsible for the overall operations aspects including value stream selection, planning, execution and successful implementation of activities in the development and introduction of new products. The Program Manager has the responsibility to ensure that the voice of operations is properly captured, and all team commitments and project contract metrics are met and communicated in a timely manner.

**Day in the life:**

Lead large cross functional teams or multiple including Design, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Category Management, Sourcing, Contract Manufacturers / OEM, Supplier Quality, through the product development process to ensure successful completion of development projects and business goals.

Responsibility for all Operations activities and deliverables in product development planning and execution.

Responsible for developing, communicating, and documenting project strategies and plans including operations budget and detailed schedule creation and maintenance

Overall value stream development and process responsibility from technology through market release.

Champion and document the Voice of Operations.

Ensure the quality policy/system is planned, understood, implemented and maintained.

Ensure Operations aspects of Quality System Compliance, Design History File, and Regulatory Submissions documentation.

Coordinate Development builds.

Lead the manufacturing and supply chain schedule risk burn down.

Ensure alignment between operations and core team.

Champion manufacturing strategy and sourcing strategy for program.

Lead decision making for facility locations, make-buy decisions, business continuity.

Define and meet operations objectives: Labor, Burden, Material, Cycle Time, Capacity, First Run Yield, Cum Yield, Process Ppk, etc

Ensure Design for Reliability and Manufacturing (DRM) is consistently and rigorously applied

Facilitate launch build planning, capacity planning and execution and Commercialization Readiness activities

Indirect People Management Development

Actively coach and mentor extended operations team

**Differentiating Factors**

Autonomy: Manages large team which would typically consist of both experienced professionals and managers. Decisions impact projects or operations and affects the deadlines, resources, and funds, and the achievement of the organizational objectives. Typically has budget or PL accountability for a department, function or geography.

Communication and Influence: Communicates with internal and external customers and vendors concerning ongoing operations, programs or processes. Influences across functions and businesses while balancing divergent objectives to gain cooperation of other parties. May interact on issues that have externally divergent objectives.

Develops new objectives, new operating policies, products, processes and standards in support of the job function strategy. Problems and issues faced are complex, difficult and undefined, and require detailed information.

Leadership and talent Management: Manages at least one function/project consisting comprised of other People or Program managers and or supervisors, and experienced professionals. Recommends strategies, goal, and plans for a group. Authorizes hiring, firing, promotion and reward within own area.

**Must Have: Minimum Qualifications**

- Bachelors degree and 7+ years of experience

- An Advanced Degree and 5+ years of experience

**Nice to Have**

+ Experience in multiple functional disciplines is desired: Manufacturing Engineering, Process Development Engineering, Project/Program Management, Manufacturing Supervision/Operations Management, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain/Purchasing/Planning/Technical Sourcing, Research and Development

+ Strong manufacturing background in medical devices or regulated environment.

+ Demonstrated success leading teams/and/or matrix organizations

+ Strong business acumen and understanding of operations costing (LBM, OPC, inventory deferrals, etc.)

+ Strong project management skills and proven ability to manage complex projects.

+ Highly developed skill set in project leadership practices including ability to balance risk, effectively influence diverse teams, and ownership of responsibility for outcomes.

+ Excellent cross functional influence skills

+ Excellent downward, lateral, and upward written and verbal communication skills.

+ Experience in Medical device commercialization activities.

+ Negotiations and Business development skills

+ DRM or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

+ Self-Driven and results oriented

+ Working knowledge of MDT Cell Operating System or similar Lean methodologies
