This role of Senior Director, Product Management for Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform organization, will be leading a cross-functional team of product and engineering to drive the road map for the GSK core data platform(Code Orange). This role will own planning, directing, and coordinating activities to develop solutions for internal customers as it relates to building out core data platform capabilities to drive GSKs data and analytics needs. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, product owners, engineering, and leadership to efficiently manage the priority and development of critical data platform features. This role will own communication with the R&D + Vaccines D&A pillar and help them to understand the key data capabilities offered by Code Orange platform and gather their needs to enhance the platform product with self-service features to ingest, prepare, & transform data. This role will contribute directly to the overall strategy of the Enterprise Data & Analytics team, gathering R&D+Vaccines D&A requirements, complete solution design, deliver end to end solutions. This role will oversee projects which will enable faster ingestion & Acquisition, preparation, and creation of analytical ready datasets by creating micro services and self-service data capabilities. For each delivery, there will be ongoing management to improve performance and drive continuous improvement throughout the product life cycle.

This individual will act as a platform product leader within the team to ensure team alignment with the broader strategy. Partner with customers and leaders to validate concepts, vision, and road maps (feeding into the Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform Strategy). Own results and drive the team to support program objectives, success measurements, and key performance indicators. Provide the vision for the needed platform capabilities to support the needs of your business pillar. Use your product skill sets to explore and partner delivering solution architecture in-line with the current architecture of the enterprise data ecosystem, while driving the future of the core data ecosystem within GSK. Participate in industry conferences and seminars, stay well informed of changes and trends in the marketplace; educate colleagues, partners, and customers as appropriate. Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems. Review project plans to plan and coordinate priorities with business partners and internal engineering.

  • Act as a thought leader, innovator and agent of change to drive the overall Code Orange platform strategy, target architecture, technology and investment road map
  • Proactively engage with key business and Tech stakeholders to anticipate upcoming demand and collaborate with senior leadership to capture business initiatives and Tech projects that will have a Code Orange data platform delivery component
  • Own and drive the combined road map for both technical delivery of Enterprise Data platform capabilities and business deliverable
  • Management and of a cross-functional team to drive business value delivering and building key business KPIs to support the ongoing success
  • Own delivery for business tech partnerships and initiatives
  • Gather business tech and business requirements, complete solution design, deliver end to end solution, to include data ingestion & Acquisition, creating micro services to help in delivering faster business value- provide ongoing management to improve performance and drive continuous improvement throughout the product life cycle.
  • Drive alignment and provide input to the Enterprise Data & Analytics Road map and Strategy
  • Own engagement with BU Tech D&A pillar of GSK- communication across all levels of management
  • Utilizing JIRA to manage the backlog of work as well as confluence for documentation around the engagements
  • Be an evangelist of Product Management, SAFe Agile practices to support the adoption
  • Actively contribute to the Data and Product communities across GSK

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelors (BA/BS) degree, or equivalent technical qualification with relevant experience.
  • 15+ years of leading Data management experience.
  • 15+ years in managing cross-functional teams
  • 7+ years in Data Platform experience- specific to owning and enabling capabilities within an enterprise data ecosystem including Data Management practices (Analytics/Platform)
  • 5+ years utilizing Agile Product Management- Scrum and SAFe methodologies
  • Experience building and operating GxP-regulated technology in Life Sciences

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Masters (MS/MA) degree
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Understanding of current cloud technologies with a passion for learning new technologies
  • Comprehensive understanding of Data Quality tooling (Ataccama), Metadata Management (Collibra), semantic data store (Azure SQL DW/Snowflake, Cosmos DB), PowerBI, Azure Databricks, Data Ingestion/Acquisition/Prep (Azure ADF, StreamSets, Talend)
