DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Product Developer Advocate to join the Container Service Team.

The Container Services team builds and operates services such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS) that make it easy for customers to run container-based applications and microservices in production.

The Product Developer Advocates (DAs) are on a mission to empower and advocate for Builders all around the world so that they can create amazing applications with AWS Container Services and advance their Just Cause.

How we do we do that?

The first step is to build products that customers need. By working closely with other functions in the Container Service Team, DAs can offer a unique perspective on users€™ experience, the challenges they are facing and the possible options to solve their problems.

The second step is to recruit builders at scale and make their onboarding on AWS Container Services the best possible experience. Conference talks, webinars, livestream shows, blog posts, code samples, contributions to upstream projects, demonstrating though-leadership and being visible in the user community are among the DAs€™ tactics to demonstrate what practitioners can achieve on AWS.

Third step is to keep them active. Customers who have the opportunity to continuously learn, listen to experts sharing good practices and have access to reference architectures are more likely to strive with AWS Container Services. We facilitate their adoption journey and the use of our technology. In addition, we believe that a community of users is the happiest and best served when their voices are heard, when they feel they can impact the direction and quality of the products they use. We make sure to relay their feedbacks to build better products.

The final step is to make builders heroes. By continuously nurturing the user community and recognizing individual€™s contribution, we can amplify their success and talent in the community. They in turn become evangelists and advocates for their communities so we can offer better products for our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

You have some or all of the following skills:
· Story teller and active listener with strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English. Second language a plus.
· Practitioner with hands-on experience who can relate, understand and guide customers
· Willing to learn, dive deep and go out of your comfort zone
· Entrepreneur with sense of urgency, ownership and empathy
· Team player and happy to help others
· Ability to translate technical features into tangible customer business benefits to ensure our user community are able to take full advantage of AWS Container Services.
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline. Master's level and above is desired.
· Able and willing to travel, including internationally, when needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

You are experienced and recognized with appropriate professional certifications and/or professional practice in some or all of the following:
· Cloud architecture (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes...) with background in Software Development, System Administration, IoT, Security or Networking
· Full-Stack Development
· On-premises to Cloud migrations or critical IT transformations
· Experienced in customer or developer community facing roles
· A history of successful speaking engagements, industry influence and/or recognition in technology publications is preferred
· Demonstrable following in social and technical channels such as Twitter, YouTube, GitHub, and Twitch
