Senior Data Governance Specialist
Finance Data Strategy (Finance CDO team) is responsible to establish thedata governance framework across Finance.The team partners with the Enterprise Data Strategy and Technologygroups to execute requirements defined in firmwide data capabilities, and drivematurity of these capabilities. We support data consumers to drive data qualityacross Finance functions, including accounting, regulatory and financialreporting, CFO teams and corporate treasury. We aim to provide transparency ofour data asset and actively manage the asset to contribute to the fulfilment ofregulatory requirements and creation of operational efficiency. The CDO function plays a critical role in thetransformation of the organization by connecting data, technology, processesand controls.
Description
This role requires technical, business, andanalytical skills to support the Data Governance team and Data Pillar in theFinance Digital Transformation:
Clearly define datarequirements in the business context.This includes data sourcing requirements and data quality business rules.
Collaborate with domainSMEs (Data Champions) to understand data consumptions and data usability
Construct process anddata workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing businessrequirements
Organize and host crossfunctional working groups; point of contact for critical data remediationprojects
Define projectrequirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements
Perform root causeanalysis for data quality errors, research and determine scope and complexityof issues and identify the steps for remediation
Understand andcommunicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
Coordinate remediationwith relevant teams (Sources, Technology, Business, Finance, etc.)
Customize and enhancedata quality dashboard based on stakeholder requests
Perform daily, weeklyand monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metricsand reports
Create informative,actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trendsand opportunities for improvement
Measuring and reportingto management on the progress of data quality improvement
Conduct insightful, adhoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time data issues
Identify areas of business processimprovement and make recommendations for long-term solutions
The staff member will be expected to cultivaterelationships with staff or contractors in: Technology, Data Strategy, DataOperations, Finance and Corporate Treasury to ensure efficient identification,collection, and use of data along with the management of the associated datagovernance processes.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or the equivalent combinationof education and experience is required.
Degree in math, engineering, statistics,computational finance or economics preferred.
Work toward or completion of MBA, CFA, or CPA/CApreferred.
7-10 years of total work experiencepreferred.
Experience with finance data set and process:Balance Sheet, P&L, Consolidations, Client Product Profitability, liquidityanalytics and reporting, interest rate risk management, asset-liabilitymanagement, regulatory reporting, is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of the structuring of dataenvironments and applications that use big data processes is a preferred.
Some experience with Business Intelligence datamanagement and visualization applications specific to Hadoop big data and theability to use SQL/Hive and other computer languages used in big data foranalysis and structuring is preferred.
Competency with data governance tools (Collibra,IDQ)
Competency with some leading data profilingtools (such as SQL, BI tools, etc.)
Experience with issue management systems
Experience with Python, Alteryx preferred
Strong organization, communication, andpresentation skills
Program management skill preferred
Familiar with logical data model
Experience with reference data and master datapreferred
