**Description:**
**Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Senior Business Development Specialist (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Issaquah Hospital Planning at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, WA.**
_Working in collaboration with executive leaders and management team, the Senior Business Development Specialist leads efforts to develop and implement a variety of strategies and tactics designed to improve market share throughout the assigned network and/or service area. In keeping with the strategic and marketing plan, the Senior Business Development Specialist develops and communicates an understanding of local & regional competitors and services and works with leadership and service lines to refine and update program development priorities in response. The Senior Business Development Specialist develops working relationships with physicians and assists in facilitating contact with community referral sources through a variety of mechanisms including personal visits, educational lectures, meetings and additional outreach opportunities both clinical and community based._
**In this position you will:**
+ In partnership with Institute and Executive leadership, helps develop annual service line strategic and programmatic plans and practice development priorities to achieve smart growth in hospital and ambulatory volumes, including inpatient admissions, outpatient services and surgical volumes.
+ Using internal and external data and resources, develops an understanding of service line attributes, trends and opportunities to develop a clear service line strategy and smart growth plan with measurable results.
+ Establishes annual targets and goals for business development initiatives. Monitors and analyzes results quarterly and reports suggestions for modifications based on the findings.
+ Develops processes to optimize communication and collaboration amongst Swedish specialties & locations and extended internal & external affiliate networks.
+ Establishes and leads monthly business development meeting with campus, institute or enterprise leadership to review priorities, contacts, and results.
**Qualifications:**
**Required qualifications for this position include:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, communications, business, healthcare, education, or a related field or equivalent educ/experience
+ Proven leadership experience and success operating in a large medical center
+ Experience in the service line (e.g. oncology, orthopedics, etc.)
+ Demonstrate proven leadership experience and success in a multidisciplinary environment with physicians, staff and hospital executives
+ Valid Washington State drivers license
+ Possession of the minimum (or greater) auto insurance coverage as mandated by the state of Washington
**Preferred qualifications for this position include:**
+ Master's Degree in Health or Business Administration
+ 5 years middle to senior level management experience coordinating community outreach and marketing health care services to physicians
