The Rates team comprises of daily review of all securities pending rate fixing, amortisation payment, early redemption, trigger events, as well as the development and implementation of technology solutions to further automate processes required, making them less sensitive to scale, whilst ensuring that staff are developed through coaching and mentoring to establish clear succession planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Be the Team Subject Matter Expert responsible for:

+ Fostering a close relationship with Key stakeholders; Issuers, Product, and Depositories and have responsibility to manage internal and external client relationships, to ensure Department responsibilities and objectives are met.

+ Provide effective communication and maintain a close working relationship with operational Risk and Control team and Front office.

+ Ownership of complex transactions, from the outset, to ensure Operationally we can support the same within our risk parameters, actively engaged with the Operational and Business implementation teams

+ Continuously develop prioritisation and multi-tasking skills, with ability to delegate work where necessary to ensure urgent and unexpected tasks are completed.

+ Update ATIS Data system with advised Rate fix information from External Calculation Agents

+ All complex Interest, redemption and amortization calculations to be performed on the Rate fix Cards include Vanilla fixings (LIBOR +/- spread), FX linked notes, RPI linked notes, Range Accrual Notes, Dual Currency notes, Amortising Mortgage Backed Issues, Nikkei Linked Redemptions, Index linked Notes, Time Value of Money calculations, and Overnight Compounding Calculations, which require a sound understanding of the documentation and interpretation thereof. This will often require the use of complex formulas.

+ Assistance in completion of all daily processes/deliverables across Depositary team.

+ Write training documents and review them on an on-going basis to ensure that they are up to date; be a checker of processes; can authorise transactions as an authorised signatory

+ Review existing processes with TL/ SM/ team and peers & identify opportunities for improvement; once identified will own to completion. Utilise understanding of performance MIS to drive Business strategy, re-design and quality improvements.

+ Assist Team Leader with ensuring Standard Level Agreements (SLAs) between all areas are in place and adhered to.

+ Participation in weekly / monthly client service conference calls.

Departmental Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for complex transaction review and on boarding.

+ Possesses and displays an in-depth knowledge not only of their own section but the department as a whole and the effect the individual groups have on each other.

+ Direct communication/exposure to both Euroclear/Clearstream and External Depositaries/PPAs

+ Support Implementation in the role of SME across the Business with regards to new Products, liaise with the Issuing and Paying Agents when reviewing Pricing Supplements of new transactions ensuring Calculation methods best meet market practice.

+ Understands and is involved in the quarterly MCA process

+ Takes lead in department initiative e.g. VOE, Peer Reviews, UAT, MCA review and department working groups.

+ During challenging times, will champion the Business needs with non-officers

Enhance Issuer Service knowledge with opportunities to progress within the Business Front Office, building close relationships with our Product colleagues Globally. Varied internal and external communication with Issuers and Front Office Transaction Managers for legal documentation review. High level of exposure to clients


+ Knowledge of the Issuer / Agency & Trust Corporate Trust product and market

+ 4 Years industry experience minimum with 3 within capital markets

+ Strong understanding of capital markets activities and drivers, transaction documentation, execution and / or legal experience

+ Strong understanding of capital markets activities and drivers

+ Degree in, Economics, Finance, Business or Law preferred

+ CFA Level 1 exam completed desirable


+ SWIFT knowledge required

+ Agency & Trust /Corporate Trust Operations experience essential

+ Ideally person should be familiar with ATIS

+ Previous experience in Arranging, Structuring or market infrastructures relevant to capital markets advantageous

+ Participant in Market/ Industry working groups (ISMAG, ICMSA, ICMA) recommended

+ Exposure to Bond Market and ISDA knowledge is essential


+ Bachelors Degree/University degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or Finance

+ A sound understanding of Reuters is desirable
