Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director, Diversity is a senior-level management position, leading the development and implementation of proactive anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion (ADE&I) initiatives in support of the College’s strategic plan to create a learning and working environment where all have an opportunity to succeed. The Director, Diversity champions the importance and value of a diverse and inclusive College environment and leads the development of a vision and effective strategy to create a culture for ADE&I and maintains compliance with applicable laws. The Director, Diversity actively engages leadership, members, volunteers, and staff to further behaviors, attitudes, and policies that support ADE&I. The Director, Diversity will collaborate with College stakeholders to assess potential barriers and develop strategies to recruit and retain a diverse workforce and membership. The Director, Diversity will also collaborate with College stakeholders to assess the need for, and recommend programs for collaboration and training initiatives on, anti-racism, cultural competency, gender differences, and other ADE&I topics.

Oversee Regental and Staff Anti-racism Committees. Support ACS diversity and disparities in care committees. Engage leaders, volunteers and staff, to build a welcoming and inclusive culture at ACS.

Plan, guide, and advise Executive Director and executive board members, volunteers and staff on ADE&I and affirmative action matters. Collaborate with College management to create, implement, and monitor programs designed to ensure fair and equitable treatment of members and staff.

Lead the College in implementing strategic initiatives, including the creation of a culture that is deliberate in anti-racism policies and practices and as a result fosters a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. Partner with leaders, volunteers, staff, and internal and external constituencies to ensure programming supports the College’s values, ADE&I priorities and strategic goals. Lead the development of an Executive Leadership Anti-racism action plan that aligns with ACS’s strategic plan and tactics. Develops a corresponding action plan with metrics, measures, and timeline.

Provide strategic direction for training initiatives on anti-racism, cultural competency, gender differences, building a climate of equity and inclusion, and other topics designed to increase awareness and support of anti-racism and inclusion value, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws in collaboration with College stakeholders.

Develop, implement, and maintain internal audit and reporting systems to track metrics related to the progress of ADE&I initiatives and report results on a regular basis to the board, executive leadership and staff. Work with ACS Board to embed ADE&I measures in our recruiting, support, education and training initiatives for membership.

Serve as an ADE&I subject matter expert for members and staff in answering questions, problem-solving, and providing general support as necessary. Develop toolkits, sample policy statements, and other resources that enable healthcare leaders to effectively lead ADE&I efforts inside their organizations and communities.

Develop ADE&I related philanthropic and organizational purpose initiatives that further the organization’s mission. Represent the College to external community, organizations, and agencies. Collaborate with external and internal constituency groups, to promote and advance ADE&I within the surgical profession and medical community. Serve as a liaison between the College and enforcement agencies.

Partner with HR to evaluate the College’s Workforce Analysis and compliance with Affirmative Action, including Affirmative Action for Protected Veterans, Equal Employment Opportunity, Title IX, and other applicable regulations. Serve as a resource for HR assisting leaders, staff, and the ACS community on issues related to protected class discrimination, harassment, and Title IX. Provide analysis of legislation and regulations related to equity, affirmative action, and Title IX in partnership with HR and makes recommendations to leadership on College policy and practice.

Your Role:

You will be responsible for dealing with all incoming HR service requests from Managers, Employees and HR Business Partners and 3rd party stakeholders in our business Operations Centers. This involves updating systems, including payroll, creating documents and escalating non-standard requests to specialist teams for action.

Passenger Conductor

We are looking for a Passenger Conductor for our Orlando, Florida facility.

In your role as a Passenger Conductor, you will:

Be responsible for the safe movement of trains by adhering to applicable operating rules/practices. Oversee all on-train employees in service delivery by adhering to Bombardier’s service standards. Ensure all revenue documents are collected/verified in accordance with designated tariffs and the safety of passengers/crew by adhering to safety rules. Thinks and functions independently utilizing clear and effective verbal communication skills to interact with passengers, crew members, and others jointly responsible for safe and efficient train movements and customer service. Secures movement orders and ensures clear understanding by operating crew. Ensure pre-determined service requests are understood and carried out. Maintain understanding of operating characteristics and practices including physical characteristics, safety rules, air brake rules, electrical instructions, equipment trouble-shooting practices, and emergency procedures. Physically move between and around train cars manipulating and lifting heavy air hoses and electrical cables. Safely ride the side of train equipment, getting on and off equipment, as required. Responsible for submission of various reports to record movement delays, unusual occurrences, passenger inconveniences, and mechanical defects. Assist in boarding and detraining of passengers.
